Job Description MFS Investment Management's Marketing Operations team is seeking to hire an RFP (Request for Proposals) Analyst II for their Boston, MA headquarters. In this role, you will assess new requests, create responses (including original writing), complete consultant requests and updates, respond to ad hoc requests, and participate in the maintenance of RFP information and resources. Principal Responsibilities
Respond to RFPs and Requests for Information (RFIs) from prospective and current clients across all MFS business areas. Research, write, and edit materials describing MFS' investment products, strategies and services while coordinating the collection of quantitative data from internal business partners.
Identify key proposal requirements, themes and issues incorporating into RFP and RFI responses.
Identify instances in which qualitative/narrative and quantitative content requirements fall outside of existing response content database.
Identify, and interact with appropriate subject matter experts (including Business Developers, Relationship Managers, Investment Specialists, Product Managers and Legal or Compliance staff) to obtain and/or facilitate creation of new content. Locate any related content or collateral material on which new content may be constructed and articulate unique aspects of new question to ensure accurate response.
Apply relationship management, communication and negotiation skills to coordinate timely procurement of information from subject matter experts and to negotiate delivery deadlines. Appropriately communicate levels of urgency while simultaneously demonstrating respect for time constraints of subject matter experts.
Identify and evaluate all quantitative data requirements (across a broad variety of fund statistics) and utilize knowledge of all data resources to locate and appropriately manipulate data.
Using discretion and subject matter knowledge, identify existing content which accurately responds to requested information. Discern all instances in which existing content requires limited editing and skillfully, accurately edit content according to variations in phrasing of client questions.
Maintain knowledge of and recognize information requests that conflict with MFS or regulatory policy. Collaborate with Legal and Compliance areas to ensure that individual RFP response is accurate and in accordance with policies.
Maintain current MFS investment, product and services knowledge to ensure accurate proposals and content (via coordination with content manager).
Maintain strong relationships with assigned business areas to accurately represent RFP needs. Use business area knowledge to contribute to team planning and volume projection.
Maintain awareness of RFP area process flows and regularly contribute process improvement ideas.
Conduct peer reviews in accordance with the guidelines to ensure a high level of quality and accurate responses within RFPs, RFIs, DDQs. Support the MFS goal of minimizing risk.
Work closely with RFP Content Manager in the development, collection and updating of RFP responses.
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of five years financial services experience. Knowledge of finance, economic and/or portfolio management is preferred.
Exceptional creative writing, editorial, analytical, research, interpersonal, verbal, and organizational skills required. Includes ability to work under pressure and manage several deadline-oriented projects simultaneously.
Proven ability to work independently and with other professionals at all organizational levels.
Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, particularly Word and Excel.
