The Liquidity Product Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining on-balance sheet and/or off-balance sheet products designed to meet the full spectrum of SVB's clients' needs. The Liquidity Product Manager plays a critical role in developing and delivering strategy across the bank as well as leading ongoing tactical initiatives. The individual will need to focus on multiple priorities including balance growth, interest expense, development of new products, and general partner education regarding liquidity products and markets.
Works in conjunction with a senior product manager or head of liquidity products to determine strategic plans and tactical initiatives
enhancements to product line to stimulate sales and meet client objectives
product standard rate changes to respond to economic environment
product initiatives designed to drive balance growth or lower interest expense
Industry knowledge of Liquidity Product Management covering both On-balance sheet deposit options (MMA, CD, IBDDA, DDA, ECR, FCA/MCA/ICA, and Packages) and Off-balance sheet liquidity options (automated sweep to MMMF, Eurodollar, and Master Note).
Understands and/or has experience with short term money markets (Treasuries, Commercial Paper, MMMF, Fed Funds, etc ...) and economics of yield curve.
Strong interpersonal and communications/presentation skills
Client focused including ability to think in terms of client experience/perspective
Ability to do what it takes to make your product and team successful
Familiarity with commercial banking
Required Education and Experience
B.S. Degree in Economics, Finance or Marketing
MBA is a plus
3+ years of Commercial/Wholesale Deposit Product Management or Treasury Management product experience
Preferred Education and Experience
Prior experience in Commercial Banking, and/or Financial Performance and Analysis within financial industry
Experience in executing projects/strategies across multiple stakeholders
Familiarity with relevant regulatory materials, in particular with regard to liquidity and balance sheet management and current deposit and non-deposit investment product offerings
A firm grasp of specific trends impacting the banking industry with an overlay of knowledge of broader macro-economic trends (including rate specific trends)
Ability to translate market trends and accompanying client needs into commercially viable solutions. Effective and concise communicator at all levels, both verbal and written.
Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) is a plus
No travel is expected for this position; training or meetings may require offsite work
The employee must have the ability to use a computer keyboard, mouse, calculator, copier/fax machine, scanner and telephone. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Employee must have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: reviewing and analyzing information; transcribing; and/or viewing a computer screen. Employee may be required to make quick decisions as to when to escalate or directly address a situation, as well as handle the stress of such situations. The work environment is indoors with a majority of time spent sitting at a desk.
