What You'll Be Doing You will join the Fraud Investigations, Commercial Fraud Monitoring department. As a Consultant, Commercial Fraud Monitoring you will be responsible for reviewing and making decisions on high value payments made by CIBC's Business Banking Clients. You will liase with the Business Banking Contact Centre and the Relationship Management Teams to confirm suspicious payments with clients. You will identify and recommend effective and efficient solutions that close gaps within Commercial Fraud Monitoring. You will identify emerging loss trends and provides consultation/advice on operational risk exposure for new initiatives and product offerings.
How You'll Succeed
Analytical Thinking & Problem solving - Tackle problems by using logical systemic, sequential approach in support of problem solving, decision making and priority setting. Use your fraud and product knowledge to detect fraudulent transaction and patterns with a high degree of accuracy by proactively identifying recovery opportunities in order to mitigate significant financial and reputational impacts to the bank.
Relationship Management - Establish and build healthy working relations and partnerships with clients, peers and business partners. Work with a group to set objectives, generate allegiance and guide and negotiate dialogues. Manage relationships with multiple internal and external partners in order to effectively investigate incidents. Maintain productive relationships and effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify solutions and implement new processes.
File Management - Lead the fraud investigation process by working with internal clients and business partners to obtain information in order to conduct preliminary assessment of high value payments
Risk Management - Assess and control operational and reputational risk through deep knowledge of process, tools and techniques. Responsible for large wire monitoring, emergency token replacement and commercial fraud mailbox monitoring. Identify and assess high value payments, make recommendations to resolve issues and ensure legitimate payments move quickly.
Effective Communication - Transmit, receive and accurately interpret ideas, information, and communicate effectively with diverse audiences, using appropriate techniques. Prepare communication and executive summaries for review by respective business leaders including notifications, status updates, and recommendations related to fraud prevention. Perform timely updates to respective systems to get legitimate payments moving quickly and fraudulent payments blocked.
Finance & Accounting - Demonstrate deep knowledge of finance and accounting practices, financial analysis and reporting and the financial impact of decisions.
