This role is reports to the Head of Global Investment Services (GIS). The candidate will play a key role in leadership of the VIC/TAS team of GIS investment specialists as well as support the Relationship Directors and Bankers with client engagement. This role is foremost about team leadership and clients - listening and responding to our HNW clients and their investment needs.
The State Director, GIS will lead a team of 3-4 senior Investment Specialists as well as manage direct client engagement. The State Director will manage all key stakeholder relationships and execute on the state strategy in alignment with the national strategy. The State Director will lead the team and work with stakeholders and clients to build a strong profile with all audiences to progress our leadership in global investment thinking and sourcing of solutions.
Responsible for the state financial performance of GIS in partnership with the State Head of Vic/Tas.
Responsible for the strategy and tactics to achieve year on year growth
Contribute to the national leadership team in partnership with state peers.
Engage stakeholders across the business to build conviction in the GIS value proposition and drive banker and client engagement.
Uphold and own the value proposition across the thematics and investment solutions
Lead a team of investment specialists, coach and facilitate their career development
Participate in all learning and development activities and implement education programs to uplift capability across the banker force to utilize full participation
Present the thematics and the solutions to clients in client roundtables and presentations
Present weekly market insights to the team to engage bankers and clients on markets and opportunities

What do I need?
Bachelor of Commerce, Finance or Business
10 years' experience in financial markets, funds management, wealth management or investment market sales
Experienced leadership - leading with optimism and positivity to execute on strategy
Experience in the HNW client segment, private banking or private wealth
Knowledge and demonstrated implementation of compliance and risk management
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite; Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
Exceptional literacy, numeracy and attention to detail
Clear communication with the ability to liaise with stakeholders across the business
Excellent time management, able to manage a variety of competing priorities
An objective, critical thinker who can handle challenging problems and situations
A positive, team player, can-do attitude with an entrepreneurial flair
A keen interest in financial markets and investment solutions
A strong presenter
