Business Banking Risk is a national team that decisions loan applications for customers with total commercial credit facilities of $3m to $10m, and engages with the local Business and Corporate Banking (BCB) teams and their customers across the region in which they are based.
Do work that matters You will lead and motivate a team of experienced Risk Executives based in each capital city, who provide all aspects of credit services including advisory, credit decisions and recommendation of applications beyond approval levels, annual reviews and non-monetary credit decisions.
Along with key people leadership responsibilities, you will;
Review and decision credit applications within your delegation, and ensure compliance with risk appetite, policies and frameworks or consider acceptable mitigants for exceptions and appropriate escalations;
Analyse industry changes which might impact risk outcomes, and recognise and recommend appropriate changes to structuring of proposals;
Be responsible for portfolio monitoring and where necessary ensure action is taken expeditiously where credit migration is evident;
Provide oversight, advice and coaching to team members on the development of strategies to manage, mitigate and price for risk, and work towards consistent and industry best practice customer credit assessment;
Work with BCB leadership to ensure that standards of origination, analysis, review and recommendation are best practice;
Attend BCB centres and customers as well as broker events, to support bankers, ensure the best customer outcomes and make informed credit decisions;
Effectively engage with peer and senior stakeholders within risk and line 1 to achieve high quality outcomes;
Contribute to accurate and timely reporting and possible engagement with regulators or other external stakeholders.
We're interested in hearing from people who possess:
Extensive experience in credit risk, including exercising a delegation of at least $10m solely, with a proven ability to provide sound, commercial and consistent risk decisions that are in the customers' best interest;
Leadership experience with proven ability to drive a positive, professional and engaging team;
Strong proven communication, stakeholder management and negotiating skills.
Relevant Tertiary qualifications in business or finance.
