Reporting to the Head of Management Assurance Compliance, the purpose of this role is to support the common team objective to build a compliance focused and an ethics based organisational culture by providing specialist knowledge and building compliance awareness among business partners. You will work collaboratively with MLC Wealth stakeholders, providing technical advice and guidance on compliance matters related to obligations management, compliance policies, event identification & management, change management and day to day operating practices. Please note that this role does not have direct line management responsibility.
In-depth product knowledge within one or more of superannuation, investment management and financial advice.
Strong technical knowledge within compliance management, including compliance frameworks, systems and processes.
Ability to balance stakeholder management with delivery in a resilient and people-centred manner.
Senior commercial operational risk and compliance experience across large-scale organisations where you have had to navigate through ambiguity.
Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce, Banking, Economics, Finance or Law.
Day to day you will:
Uphold community standards for the Organisation and lead a client and member oriented engagement model.
Manage compliance program activities and compliance reviews in collaboration with the team members and ensure identified weaknesses and gaps are addressed promptly and efficiently.
Assist Projects and Business Units by interpreting new legislation and drafting obligations, maintaining the Governance, Risk and Compliance data base and ensuring the Organisation conforms to legislative and policy requirements.
Facilitate the identification and management of breaches and incidents including the development of appropriate remediation plans.
Manage reporting on the effectiveness of the operation of the compliance management system, providing insights, themes and trends.
Manage MLC Wealth stakeholder engagement and provide technical advice and guidance on compliance matters.
Manage the Organisation's conformance with Privacy and notifiable data breaches, Conflicts Management, Anti Money Laundering and Counter Terrorism Financing, Code of Conduct, Whistleblowing and Complaints Management by conducting training, reviews and assessing awareness.
