Risk Management is responsible for developing and deploying the risk frameworks to allow the Group to take conscious exposures to credit, market, operational, compliance and insurance risks within a Board-approved appetite. We ensure the Group has appropriate strategies and frameworks in place to assess, manage and report on credit, market, operational, compliance and insurance risks.
This role will sit within the Transparency & Visualisation team forming part of the broader Risk Strategy and Optimisation business unit providing strategic guidance to help drive better business and risk outcomes through analytically driven insights
Ongoing responsibilities include:
Establish and develop a data, analytics and reporting team with the right mix of skills to deliver the Risk Management reporting and analytics strategy
Manage the capacity and capability of your team
Partner with relevant support teams to ensure the team are equipped with the correct tools and data to be able to deliver on business needs
Manage the analysis of risk data to support Group CRO reporting requirements
Evaluate the effectiveness of the service offering and change management activities
Implement and support adherence to the Data Management Framework
Implement appropriate governance and controls to ensure tools meet Risk Management requirements
Provide subject matter expertise into management decision making and/or related projects
Support the General Manager, Transparency and Visualisation in order to deliver the Transparency Builds Trust agenda across Risk Management
Skills and Experience
Analytical techniques to generate value adding insights
Experience in the development of IT infrastructure to support analytics and data management
Experience in developing analytics models for business decision making purposes
Experience of facilitating workshops with senior management
Demonstrated ability to prioritise, schedule and meet challenging deadlines managing a program of work
Knowledge of Financial and Non-Financial Risk Framework elements
Ability to understand and communicate complex concepts accurately and concisely
Proven ability to lead and manage teams of people
Strong verbal (including presentation) and written communication
Strong stakeholder engagement
Strong service orientation and well developed interpersonal skills
Excellent analytical thinking and problem solving skills
Broad knowledge of banking products
