Risk Management is responsible for developing and deploying the risk frameworks to allow the Group to take conscious exposures to credit, market, operational, compliance and insurance risks within a Board-approved appetite. We ensure the Group has appropriate strategies and frameworks in place to assess, manage and report on credit, market, operational, compliance and insurance risks.
This role will sit within the Transparency & Visualisation team forming part of the broader Risk Strategy and Optimisation business unit providing strategic guidance to help drive better business and risk outcomes through analytically driven insights
Ongoing responsibilities include:
Working closely with stakeholders, lead the design, development and maintenance of risk data, analytical and reporting tools (primarily for either Financial Risk or Non-Financial Risk)
Provide reporting and analysis of risk data to support Group CRO reporting requirements to the Board and Management, including commentary on movements, emerging issues, data linkages, and insights
Manage continuous improvement activities, including regular reviews of reports and analytics output to ensure that user needs are being met and identifying opportunities for productivity improvements
Facilitate risk deep dives into specialist areas through the provision of data and insights
Support the roll out and change management of analytical and reporting tools
Implement appropriate governance and controls to ensure tools meet Risk Management requirements
Provide subject matter expertise into management decision making and/or related projects
Support the General Manager, Transparency and Visualisation and the Executive Manager, Risk Data, Analytics and Reporting Enablement in order to work productively as a member of a small team, contributing to ad-hoc projects, tasks and requests from Business Units for guidance and advice
Skills and Experience
Analytical techniques to generate value adding insights
Experience of facilitating workshops with senior management
Knowledge of either the Non-Financial Risk Framework or the Financial Risk Framework elements and systems
Experience in the development of IT infrastructure to support analytics and data management
Demonstrated ability to prioritise, schedule and meet challenging deadlines managing a program of work
Ability to understand and communicate complex concepts accurately and concisely
Strong stakeholder engagement
Strong service orientation and well developed interpersonal skills
Excellent analytical thinking and problem solving skills
Broad knowledge of banking products
