There is an opportunity for a Senior Analyst to join the Industry Analytics & Insights team. Within this team the analytical focus of the role will be a mix of Institutional Property and large Mid-Market Property clients within the Westpac Institutional Bank.
Westpac Institutional Bank manages the financial needs of corporate, institutional and government clients that are based, or have interests in, Australia and New Zealand. We are a leading provider of wholesale banking services in the area, with an increasing presence in the Asia/Pacific region.
Industry Analytics & Insights is responsible for high quality origination and delivery of best-in-class customer and industry insights to differentiate our sales proposition, and portfolio risk management. The team delivers robust analysis to support sustainable great credit decisions, within a wholesale banking environment.
As the Senior Analyst you will build strong relationships with Real Estate clients through demonstrating your specialized industry knowledge. You will perform in depth analysis on clients and prospective clients to identify opportunities, determine credit quality and associated risks. You will undertake strategic selling initiatives and also work closely with the Coverage / Relationship team and product areas to provide transaction solutions.
Responsibilities of the Role
Identify strategic opportunities, providing high quality research and evaluating potential funding ideas across a portfolio of Real Estate clients;
Prepare credit submissions including detailed risk analysis and financial forecasting, and be able to negotiate submissions through credit;
Build relationships and establish rapport with senior management on a strategic level demonstrating your industry knowledge for companies in your portfolio;
The key competencies of the role are industry knowledge, credit skills, and excellent communication skills.
About You - To be successful you will have the following:
Tertiary qualification majoring in finance or property related degree;
Minimum of 5 years' experience in financial and credit analysis;
Credit or client management experience covering the property industry is preferable;
Strong attention to detail and operational expertise;
Interest and skills in developing and coaching more junior team members;
Team player and superior energy levels;
Good verbal communication and influencing skills;
The ability to work autonomously.
