The Senior Investment Strategist serves as the primary point of contact for index clients, prospects and consultants and is responsible for representing Mellon Capital's index investment capabilities to retain and drive new business. The Senior Investment Strategist has a key role in business development, working closely with the firm's sales and relationship managers and serves as the primary investment contact for institutional index clients. The Senior Investment Strategist will help shape strategy, participate in investment strategy meetings and contribute client and marketplace feedback for new product development. The Strategist will also collaborate with the investment teams to generate and implement investment ideas and solutions to help improve and enhance investment results. The Senior Investment Strategist will be responsible for creating written investment collateral and thought leadership pieces, overseeing development and updating current RFP responses, questionnaires and marketing collateral. The Senior Investment Strategist is an integral member of the team responsible for representing index strategies and will be a key influencer for our clients, prospects and consultants to help grow and retain index assets.
-Serves as the primary contact for index clients, prospects and consultants. Provides ongoing updates about the investment philosophy, process, and performance of specific products and vehicles.
-Has a key role in business development to help the sales and relationship professionals retain and develop new index relationships. Represents and identifies marketplace and client demand to help shape new strategies and portfolio design.
-Responds to queries from clients and the sales and distribution teams specific to the index strategies. Regularly participates in investment strategy meetings with portfolio managers and contributes client and marketplace feedback to drive continued improvement and enhancements in the investment process.
-Influences others by demonstrating strong investment acumen and communicating and engaging with colleagues, clients and consultants.
-Partners with marketing to create and update thought leadership and current marketing collateral, handles index-specific content for RFP responses; provides required content for client-related commentaries.
Bachelors degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Advanced/graduate degree preferred. 5-7 years of total work experience preferred and 5 years or more of investment experience preferred. Applicable local/regional licenses or certifications as required by the business. As global firm, bi-lingual capabilities are helpful as is an understanding of local/cultural nuances important for client trust.
