Client Relations Analyst / Associate

AIIB's Investment Operations are divided into two regional teams, 1 and 2. Each regional team is led by a Vice President (VP) and reporting staff includes client relations specialists, technical specialists and bankers. Region 1 is responsible for South East Asia and South Asia (except Pakistan and Afghanistan), while Region 2 covers Pakistan, Afghanistan, Central Asia, East Asia, West Asia, Europe, Africa and Latin America.
The Client Relations and Programming Unit is responsible for engaging with Bank's clients including both public and private sectors for business development and long term relationships. It's major functions include working with our members to develop project pipeline in close coordination with the Technical and Banking departments, preparing country programming memo in consultation with clients, conducting high-level and working level visits and generating country-level intelligence.
Responsibilities: The responsibilities of the Country Programming Associate/Analyst include, but are not limited to, the following:
Assist in research on client countries especially with regards to their infrastructure development and financing needs for the purpose of developing country programming.
Arrange and prepare documents for missions and high-level dialogue, including preparation of presentations, coordinating and participating in meetings, following up with missions and meetings , and back-to-office reporting, etc.
Coordinate and participate in business trips to client countries and assist in the preparation of documents for country consultations and other engagement activities, including client/country briefs for management.
Help maintain the working-level contacts and dialogues with international financial institutions (IFIs) and bilateral development agencies in client countries regarding cofinancing opportunities.
Provide an effective interface and prompt responses to the client's enquiries and perform all necessary proactive engagement and follow-up activities.
Support internal coordination within the Bank through information exchanges and teamwork with relevant divisions.
Perform ad hoc tasks assigned by the unit management.
Minimum 2-5 years of relevant working experience (3-5 for Associate) in country coverage and client relationships financed by local or multilateral development banks, or bilateral cooperations. Experience with infrastructure projects is a plus.
Basic understanding of key analytical and office tools, and basic experience in developing business plans.
Good track record with dealing with country/regional issues; experience in working in multicultural environments is a plus.
Strong interpersonal, diplomatic and partnership skills, including speaking persuasively and presenting ideas clearly.
Ability and willingness to collaborate, contribute productively to the team's work and output and work effectively in a team environment.
A high level of personal integrity and sense of accountability.
Willing to travel extensively.
Excellent written and fluent oral communication skills in English.
Bachelor's degree or higher in economics, finance, public policy, business administration, international relations, social sciences or equivalent from a reputable university.
