The Role Responsibilities
The role will be in the FM Compliance team and report to the Head, Controls and Regulatory Reform, Financial Markets Compliance. The successful candidate will be required to undertake the following roles and responsibilities.
Support the ongoing work within the Bank to identify and implement the requirements for the Financial Markets business to comply with global regulations impacting Compliance and the Business.
Drive changes within the Financial Markets business to enhance governance frameworks, policies, processes and controls to minimize compliance and regulatory risk. This includes designing and reviewing controls under the banks risk frameworks. This will involve working through implementation of the banks risk management frameworks within FM and embedding appropriate control processes across the FM business. Design and coordinate the execution of reviews and control processes to test that they are effective and embedded.
Act as a single point of contact for controls for a defined area of the FM business and liaise closely with counterparts in the advisory team and COO teams, including representation on relevant governance forums.
Advising on relevant regulatory requirements and expectations for controls, and related policies and procedures to address them, and development and implementation of training programs as required.
Support the oversight of Best Execution arrangements for the Financial Markets business to comply with, amongst others, FCA Best Execution rules, FINRA Rules, FCA Thematic Reviews, and MIFID requirements. Support the development of MI and governance framework for Best Execution.
Plan and participate in regional initiatives and the Compliance Risk Assessment to ensure best practices are adopted where applicable and enhance the overall standards of Compliance and risk management in country.
Our Ideal Candidate
strong technical knowledge of Financial Markets products, activities and associated regulatory requirements, and sound understanding of risks and control frameworks.
the ability to analyse regulations and their applications, and a strong appreciation of the importance of proper standards of conduct within banking.
the ability to develop relationships with multiple stakeholders in various functions and countries, including but not limited to Sales & Trading, Legal & Compliance, Regulatory Reform, IT and Operations, Project Management and the COO Office. This should include the ability to interact with a broad range of stakeholders, to ensure the requirements are understood, their impact on the business analysed and delivered through to implementation, including the control framework.
the ability to work independently and within a team. The candidate should have a desire to deliver results, be self-motivated and self-reliant with a genuine desire to get things done.
excellent written English with a proven track record mapping and documenting process implementation. Strong MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint skills.
