Corporate Security ("CS") is responsible for the Banks fraud risk, prevention, detection, investigation, and asset recovery while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies. The Fraud Operations Unit ("FOU") is part of CS and is tasked with producing financial intelligence through the detection, investigation, and reporting of suspicious activity with FinCEN.
The Fraud Operations Manager will oversee a team of Analysts and Investigators and their daily functions for on-going fraud monitoring and detection, alert disposition, escalation, and investigation. Additionally, they will continually seek to strengthen enterprise-wide fraud risk management and safeguard the Bank from current and emerging fraud trends.
Monitor industry developments, including red-flags and best practices and ensure processes are in place to keep the FOU team updated on such developments
Collaborate with business units to analyze trends in suspicious activity
Liaise with Legal, Compliance, IT and other key stakeholders and partners with respect to fraud risk and controls, and other initiatives impacting the FOU
Assist in developing proactive initiatives
Analyze and synthesize data and prepare presentation and reports for management, various governance, and risk committees
Ensure that all analysis is completed in a timely and efficient manner, while maintaining the highest standards for regulatory and compliance requirements.
Manage and Lead a team of intelligence analysts and investigators.
Develop and/or enhance proactive intelligence relating to fraud and other financial crimes, including internal and external fraud, cyber threats, and high –risk customers.
Conduct analysis of relevant data to identify trends/patterns/emerging threats, as well as other information that may be useful to the Bank.
Liaise with Compliance, Audit, Risk Management, and FCC
Coach and train analysts on current fraud trends and patterns
Have a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in Fraud Risk Management, Fraud Investigations, digital banking, or experience with a financial services firm, regulatory agency or investigative due diligence experience in a professional consultancy.
Prior leadership or management in fraud related financial crimes
Strong knowledge of digital banking and subsequent technologies preferred
Have advance knowledge of fraud schemes, trends, and risk
Have experience creating presentations and deliverables for senior stakeholders
Strong ability to create user friendly excel spreadsheets from large datasets of raw data
Have excellent written and verbal communications skills, attention to detail and strong time management skills;
Possess strong analytical thinking and critical reasoning skills.
Have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with colleagues across regions and Business Units
Can effectively handle a fast- paced environment and successfully meet established deadline requirements
Be self-motivated and must have the ability to work independently
Certification as a Certified Fraud Examiner, or similar certification
Teach and consult with Bank managers, customers, employees, and Law Enforcement to mitigate loss and to recover stolen assets
