Lead the ESS Audit and Controls team managing the risk, audit and regulatory portfolio across all ESS services.
ESS N3 trusted advisor providing the transparency on issues/status.
Maintain independence and demonstrate integrity in carrying out responsibilities. Fulfill the role of "advocate" for department while always putting the firm's interests first.
Ensure audit actions are projected, executed with correct scope & requirements and with sufficient contingency.
Tracking the remediation of all the open audit points and SOX controls - providing an independent status assessment of the progress of each point and adequate closure of the identified risk.
Lead the Audit, Regulatory and SOX controls for ESS acting as Point of Contact for all ESS Internal Audits.
Regularly assess the health of executing audit actions and handle issues accordingly.
Ensure responses to audit points and MICOS updates are appropriately worded.
Carry out due diligence before closing points in MICOS to ensure that accurate actions have been taken and proper evidence is supplied.
Coordinate with Audit team, 2nd Line of Defense and other teams during their fieldwork - clearance and inspection - clearance phase.
Collaborate with partners regularly to re-assess and prioritize audit and regulatory requirements along the product/component lifecycle interacting with delivery projects aligned with product/component roadmaps and ensure regulatory requirements and Audit and Compliance related topics are addressed.
Build a strong collaboration with bank-wide partners, e.g. SOX, Internal Audit, and ESS MC to ensure a holistic view of the ESS audit landscape ensuring regulatory requirements are addressed to projects and overseen during implementation.
Ensure timely and transparent audit remediation reporting to all relevant partners.
Establish credibility as an audit & controls SME. Be the authority within department for audit wording and clarifications of audit points.
Stay abreast of the technical content of controls topics.
Drive conversations with Regulatory Affairs/Regulatory point person to handle expectations and maintain responsiveness.
Draft response and where necessary handle the remediation of regulatory findings, providing regular updates to GCIO Controls and Regulatory Affairs, as well as the regulator themselves (through the correct channels) if required.
Attend recurring regulatory meetings and respond to follow-up requests.
Investigate emerging regulatory trends, new laws, regulations, circulars and advisories tied to ESS capabilities and controls, and partner with CISO, compliance and GC to navigate required updates and attest to compliance e.g. NYDFS 500 Cybersecurity Regulation.
Oversight of Operational Risk Management (ESS Internal Risk Register), People Risk & Top Risks.
A Master or Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent and you have at least 5 years' experience in leading an Audit function and compliance advisory role within information security within a large multi-national financial services organization.
You have the experience in and a deep knowledge of Technology Security Solutions - especially Cyber Security in the Threat intelligence, Detect and Response areas.
You have strong knowledge of IT guidelines, delivery processes, standards and policies - specifically NIST.
You have the experience in laws and regulations - specifically you have the experience in interacting with the regulators (especially FINMA and US regulators).
You have detailed understanding of the nuisances of individual regulatory bodies to cater to their respective needs to reduce unnecessary processing time.
You have worked collaboratively with Audit and Compliance functions, including coordinating and preparing feedback.
You have a proven track record in driving transformational change programs ensuring continuous improvements. Therefore advanced communication and networking / influencing skills are a requirement. Consulting experience is a plus, equivalent skill-sets (communication, negotiation, analytical mindset) are highly desired.
You demonstrate flexibility working with a high level of independence while adapting to the demands of process and compliance and have experience managing remotely.
You combine the ability to function within a multidisciplinary, global team and act as a self-starter with a strong curiosity, global and strategic mindset.
You are an ambitious, hardworking individual with good problem solving skills, positive, empathetic personality and can-do attitude to handle multiple challenging priorities and assignments.
