This position contributes to the overall success of the AML Risk, Global Policy and Standards (GPS) Regulatory & Risk Assessment Solutions team ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are delivered in support of the team's strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. The Senior Manager, Regulatory & Risk Assessment Solutions, is responsible for leading the development and integration of various risk assessments into manual or system solutions. Key Accountabilities:
Understands how various risk and control assessment key data elements intersect and align with Global Risk and Control Frameworks
Leads the selection, development and integration of various risk assessments into manual or system solutions.
Provide guidance and support to technical deliverables, including the mapping from to risk assessments to platform data fields (as applicable)
Analyze and document existing business and operational process flows
Design and document future business and operational process flows and roadmaps
Leads applicable projects, and ensures the projects have up-to-date project plans and schedules, and monitors overall progress.
Drives stakeholder management and alignment
Provides ongoing communication and interface with stakeholders and ensures timely reporting of status and escalation of issues
Ensure that change management, acceptance and management approval are proactive and effective on all projects
Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk
Understands how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
Experience / Education:
Undergraduate Degree in business administration, finance with an understanding of quantitative methods
5-7 years of related Risk, Control, Audit, AML or general Compliance experience
Strong knowledge of data management, including data capture and segmentation
Advanced ability to manage multiple projects
Experience and technical know-how of risk management procedures, processes, and tools
Strong relationship management
Proven ability to operate independently and take initiative in supporting a program strategy
Must be reliable, proactive, results-oriented, enthusiastic, a team player, and customer-focused with enhanced attention to details
Superior ability to communicate including preparing and delivering presentations at the executive level
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Experience in risk and control management, compliance, or audit
Ability to work in a fast paced environment and can adapt to changes in priorities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
