The Senior Analyst, Transaction Monitoring - AML Risk is responsible for defining, investigating and developing solutions to support the team's business strategies and objectives, including but not limited to Scenario Implementation, Coverage assessment, and support day-to-day activities of the Transaction Monitoring scope. The role will work very closely with the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), the Anti-Money Laundering Operations Centre (AOC), AML Technology, MIS Reporting & Analytics, and vendors as appropriate to ensure successful delivery of objectives. Additionally, individual will be participating in initiatives to identify and action opportunities for local improvements to productivity, decision effectiveness, and the user experience. Automated transaction monitoring is deployed globally across all three of the bank's lines of business: Canadian banking, International Banking and Global Banking and Markets in over 40 countries/business units.
Champions a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
Collaboratively work with the IT units to support the resolution of production incidents and post-implementation validation related to the Rules implemented in Oracle Mantas and resolve inquiries from end users related to scenario effectiveness.
Ensure timely and accurate completion of assigned activities through creation/maintenance of JIRA stories, Incident review weekly meetings, Transaction Monitoring stand up meetings, Sprint planning sessions, and document handling.
Assist manager in leading workshops with stakeholder's and SME's to drive out business requirements.
Produce high quality documentation through effective business analysis, primarily mapping processes and defining requirement documentation.
Conduct the Validation and Business Acceptance Testing for new and existing rules by assisting in the preparation of Test Plan, Test Execution, Defect Management and Release Documentation.
In conjunction with management, assist in the completion of coverage assessment, risk strategy, product & services, delivery channels for the in-scope business units/jurisdictions as defined by the GAMLU's roadmap.
Self-starter able to take initiative identifies areas of improvement, tracks & monitors progression against project plans & schedules. Bring to team's attention any deliverables require immediate resolution

Education / Experience
Bachelor's degree or higher in math, engineering, computers, business or equivalent.
Strong AML/ATF knowledge and experience.
Experience operating under multiple project delivery frameworks (e.g. Agile).
Process improvement and/or Business Analysis experience.
Experience engaging with business partners, vendors, contractors etc.
Experience with automated transaction monitoring tools (preferably Oracle Mantas).
Excellent writing and communication skills, choosing when and how to convey information and/or ideas concisely in ways that will be clearly understood.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in financial/consulting services, risk, regulatory and/or compliance.
ACAMS Certification is an asset.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) skills.
Ability to work independently, learn on the fly and adjust to shifting priorities.

Excellent understanding of automated transaction monitoring and rules management methodologies; evaluating, identifying and escalating issues accordingly.
Proven assessment, Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Tableau (or equivalent) & SQL skills are excellent to have.
