Lead a team to manage the counterparty risk of HKEX on-exchange clearing houses in accordance with approved policies and procedures, including the margin and default fund administration
Support system enhancements by providing user requirements, monitoring the progress, managing operational acceptance test and implementing the changes
Communicate risk management matters with external stakeholders regularly through ad hoc or structured channels
Manage incidents and contingency events and communicate with HKEX senior management and regulator
Assess risk implications of new products and business initiatives and ensure proper implementation of appropriate risk management measures
Manage participant default event and provide timely information to HKEX senior management
Maintain the effectiveness of the risk monitoring systems and the efficient reporting mechanism under both business as usual and contingency situations
Coordinate with relevant parties and ensure compliance of international standards and applicable regulations
University degree or equivalent; preferably in Risk Management/Finance/Economics or a related subject
Holder of relevant professional qualification, preferably MBA, MS in Finance, FRM or CFA
At least 10 years' relevant experience in counterparty risk or collateral operations at a clearing house, bank, asset manager, hedge fund or similar financial organizations is preferred
Excellent knowledge of securities and/or derivatives market. Experience in the Mainland China securities and derivatives markets is an advantage
Knowledge of local and international regulatory requirements including, but not limited to, the Securities and Futures Ordinance (SFO), Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS), CPMI-IOSCO Principles for Financial Market Infrastructures (PFMIs) or European Markets Infrastructures Regulations (EMIR).
Knowledge in clearing house rules and risk monitoring systems; experience with global or regional clearing house is an advantage
Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
Strong command of written and spoken English and Chinese. Proficiency in Putonghua is an advantage
