Nuveen Equities and Fixed Income (NEFI) is seeking a senior research analyst to primarily cover European corporate credit issuers. The successful candidate will be an experienced, energetic and contributing member of a highly successful group of investment professionals.
The right individual must have an understanding of the European corporate credit markets, along with corporate credit analysis and fixed income markets experience. Solid critical thinking, communications, and interpersonal skills are required to be successful. The successful candidate will work with various portfolio managers and research analysts on fixed income securities across a wide range of portfolio mandates, including General Account insurance assets, mutual funds, Closed End Funds, and separately managed accounts. The Global Fixed Income Research team supports numerous NEFI fixed income portfolio mandates that collectively manage approximately $250 billion in fixed income assets.
Evaluate and monitor the credit quality characteristics of Investment Grade European corporate credit issuers. Preference for a credit research generalist that could potentially cover segments of the European High Yield market.
Conduct independent fundamental credit research and create historical and projected financial models which capture credit trends. Exhibit intellectual curiosity to underwrite new sectors and generate relative value ideas across various investment mandates.
Work in close collaboration with US based portfolio managers, traders, and other research analysts to provide thorough analysis and investment ideas. Provide relative value analysis between Euro and USD credit and support cross currency basis swap investment idea generation.
Assist portfolio managers with research and analysis in their process to form and implement their investment strategies and support other parts of the Nuveen organization as a local subject matter expert.
Primary Market liaison responsibilities (non-execution) to communicate New Issue announcements and to socialize deal details and updates.
Contribute to all formal reports and research processes (internal ratings, recommendation lists, watch lists, etc.) that enable the efficient and transparent oversight of the asset class.
Represent Nuveen Global Fixed Income Research in meetings with issuers and at conferences and industry events. Interface with internal business partners, assist in client interactions, and support ESG leadership and integration efforts in the European credit space.
Bachelor's degree required. MBA, CFA designation, or advanced degree preferred.
Significant experience of corporate credit research and financial statement analysis with some experience in a total rate of return environment.
Broad-based knowledge of credit analysis and investing in European corporate credit sectors.
Sound quantitative, analytical, critical thinking and financial modeling abilities. Knowledge and systems ability with Excel and Bloomberg.
Sound communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Resourceful and entrepreneurial attitude with an ability to work independently as part of a global research team
Experience working with issuer and industry relationships within Europe.
