Job Description The MIS Research group's objective is to enable MIS to get the right research to the right people at the right time. This role is focused on managing and helping to evolve business Intelligence & analytics reporting for Moody's research in order to most effectively monitor fulfillment of Moody's research business strategy and objectives.
The AVP - Research Analyst will be an integral part of the Research Product Management team focused on supporting analytical and data needs for Moody's Research and Outreach. The role requires an ability to analyze and understand complex data within the context of credit and business strategy, and develop visual analytics using BI tools such as Tableau.
Key activities include:
Serve as the lead and subject matter expert for implementation of business intelligence, analytics and reporting solutions
Transform multiple data sources into actionable insights via web-based product management dashboards (i.e., -- using Tableau)
Develop documentation and business requirements for new projects
Provide internal user training and support including technical support on dashboards / website
Provide suggestions to enhance current reporting capability to meet future business needs
Help define a Business Intelligence & Analytics strategy and manage continuous improvement of the function
Serve as mentor to junior team members
Bachelor's degree required; Masters preferred; minimum 6-8 years experience
Preference for degree(s) in statistics, data science, business intelligence or similar discipline
Experience in executing multiple projects and deliverables in parallel within strict timelines
Experience developing dashboards with complex and large datasets using Tableau
Ability to understand current processes and make appropriate recommendations for changes
Results driven and able to take the lead with little supervision as well as working closely with multiple teams
Excellent written / verbal communication skills and strong business communication skills
Ability to work against tight deadlines with colleagues in a global team environment
Strong analytical and project management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize, track and deliver results against established objectives
