The primary objective of this role is the processing and production of financial information to a high degree of accuracy on a timely basis. The role involves a broad range of activities with competing time pressures, so the successful candidate will have the ability and desire to take full ownership of a number of activities that are integral to the Finance function, this includes the opportunity to redesign and improve processes to increase efficiencies where possible. The pace is fast and the team is a dynamic and diverse combination of individuals.
Examples of specific duties and responsibilities include:
Inputting and coding purchase orders and invoices accurately into the purchase order system
Managing supplier relationships and dealing promptly with queries
Ensuring procurement controls are enforced, maintained and developed upon
Supplier statement reconciliations
Weekly bank reconciliations across multiple currency accounts
Posting cash entries into the accounting system
Processing supplier payments
Maintaining complete and accurate G/L including posting entries, reconciliation of ledger balances and posting of monthly journals
Producing monthly balance sheet reconciliations for multiple GSA entities
Ad hoc work:
Supporting the other members of the team in the production of the management accounts
3 A Levels (Grade AAB or above)
Looking to study an accountancy qualification (AAT, CIMA or ACCA) and the commitment that entails
A good level of Excel
+2 years relevant work experience and/or a related degree (min 2:1)
Nice to have:
Prior accounting/bookkeeping experience in work or as an internship
