VisVires Capital Asia Pte. Ltd. was incorporated in Singapore in September 2012 and was registered with the Monetary Authority of Singapore ("MAS") as a Registered Fund Management Company ("RFMC") in November 2013. It structures and manages several private investment vehicles which are open for subscription to accredited and institutional investors.
We are looking for a hands-on individual to oversee and provide overall direction and guidance to the operational activities of the finance and investment units at our dynamic and growing private equity firm with investments in venture / growth stage companies in Europe and Asia.
The successful candidate will be based in Singapore and will report to the Group Finance Director located in Europe.
We welcome applications from less experienced / mid-career professionals for the Junior Finance Director position. For candidates hired for the Junior Finance Director role, we are looking for applicants that are able to demonstrate a skill set to be able to move onto the Deputy Finance Director position in a short time frame.
The key responsibilities would include:
Fund & Corporate Accounting
Overseeing Fund's and Corporate's quarterly accounts and Annual Financial Statements;
Managing the accounting controls for each fund to monitor cash flows, NAV and IRRs for each fund/investment;
Have sound knowledge of calculating Fund's overall carried interest, net IRR, preferred return, equalization etc as and when needed;
Partner with the investment team to provide valuable input for each Fund's quarterly valuation reports and investor reports;
Have technical knowledge and experience in managing financial and tax reporting and working with external auditors and internal teams;
Able to manage and control the Group's numerous bank accounts and to facilitate the monitoring of Fund cash balances;
Has a strong understanding of investment terms and latest status;
Ability to proactively participate in quarterly valuation process and contribute in terms of methodology, approach adopted and detailed calculation checks (if required) and has no issues in stepping in to write the reports in the absence of junior colleagues;
Ability to analyse investment valuation details with investment teams and auditors;
Ad-hoc Responsibilities (non-exhaustive)
Overseeing and approving of capital call and distribution notices;
Ability to manage investor enquiries professionally and confidently;
Has working knowledge and a sense of appreciation of various regulatory requirements;
Reviewing and managing service level agreements of 3rd party service providers;
Have a strong working knowledge/understanding of legal documents such as constituent documents and side letters relating to existing and new funds and maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of all private equity and venture capital fund structures and terms.
The ideal candidate should be a decisive, knowledgeable, detail & result-oriented applicant that is able to not only inspire and manage but also willing and able to step-in, deputize and assist his/her colleagues (as and when needed).
Be able to work collaboratively with colleagues from all departments and across all levels to achieve the required deliverables for the company and its investors and who is willing to take initiative when required and set and adhere to deadlines.
Good appreciation of international & local tax, internal controls and corporate governance.
Effective leadership and communication skills and be able to coach junior employees.
Ability to keep abreast of company policies and procedures and suggesting and implementing improvements where necessary
Bachelor or Master Degree in Accounting / Finance
Minimum 8 years' experience in accounting or audit with experience in private equity
Strong supervisory & leadership skills with experience in managing a small but dynamic team
Excellent command of written and spoken English. Fluency in French is desirable (but not essential)
