What You'll Be Doing As a Senior Business Analyst, you will provide expert and specialized analytics across all channels and within Retail Transaction Fraud. You will play a key role in consolidation, reconciliation and automation of operational losses, fraud trends and root cause of loss reporting discrepancies in a defined and short timeframe. You will be a subject matter expert in developing robust methodologies for forecasting operational losses. Utilize creative thinking and apply mathematical, financial and statistical methods in the design/development of new analysis.
How You'll Succeed
Analytics - Manage complex statistical analysis/analytics and interpret results to determine risk attributes, loss trends, root causes and key drivers of operational losses. Design, development of code and processes to carry out the extraction, manipulation, transformation and delivery of data extracts & data sets in SQL & SAS. Create processes and code to automate delivery of new and existing standard analytics & reporting in SAS and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Access & Tableau). Deliver moderately complex data quality extract and manipulation reviews using SAS / SQL and deliver feedback to Decision Support on those reviews. Apply creative thinking to overcome limitations in data availability and data quality.
Reporting - Design, develop and deliver visual reporting to replace and supplement existing reporting using state of the art visual reporting tools. Provide complex analytical reporting capability to business units based on client requirements combined with a business assessment of each functional unit's business needs. Develop an operational measurement & reporting plan for new initiatives as well existing business operations processes. Deliver monthly dashboards such as root cause of losses, fraud sustainment, Operational Loss Dashboard, Monthly Business and Partner and Business reviews which provides ability to measure the success of our business and provide insight into how we are losing money.
Consulting - Identify emerging risk issues/trends and assess/recommend deficiencies. Develop robust methodologies for forecasting operational losses. Utilize creative thinking and apply mathematical, financial and statistical methods in the design/development of new analysis. Support and sometimes lead project implementation as it relates to new business activities and/or internal initiatives. Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend solutions. Conduct meetings and presentations to share data, information, findings and expertise on relevant topics with operational & executive leadership as well as frontline and support staff.
Relationship Management - Develop and maintain productive relationships with management, peers and others across all lines of business. Liase with Finance and line of businesses throughout the forecasting process. Provide technical and professional guidance to Business Analysts as needed. Collaborate with the Business Controls and Fraud Effectiveness to improve the quality of meta-data; and the quality of reporting and analytical databases.
Who You Are
You can demonstrate experience with reporting models, databases/ data management and visualization tools, such as SAS, R, Python, SQL, Tableau and VBA (extensive working experience with Tableau and SAS or SAS EG is required). You also have a very high level of expertise with Microsoft Office 2010 and Office 2010 automation (Excel & PowerPoint + VBA).
You have a degree/diploma in computer science, mathematics, statistics / similar area or an equivalent combination of training and experience in reporting and software development.
