As a Compliance Officer you will have dual reporting lines to the Head of Compliance for Macquarie Capital Ireland ("MCI") and the Head of Compliance for Macquarie Bank Europe ("MBE"). This position will offer you an excellent opportunity to further develop your compliance and anti-money laundering experience in a dynamic, commercial and fast-paced environment. Sitting within Macquarie's European business based in Dublin, the role is challenging and requires broad involvement with compliance and financial crime issues and regular interaction with senior management and executives across MCI and MBE and the wider Risk Management Group in Europe.
You will provide advisory, training and monitoring support to the Head of Compliance based in Ireland as required for all compliance and AML activities throughout the Macquarie bank and broker-dealer headquartered in Ireland. , you will be the first point of contact for advisory support for staff in Dublin. Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: conflict identification and management; regulatory change implementation; policy management; and the generation of compliance related reporting for the regulated entities. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all risk-based reviews and monitoring are in line with local regulatory obligations and internal policies / procedures. You will also manage in conjunction with the Head of Compliance in Ireland the relationship with the Central Bank of Ireland and respond to any regulatory correspondence.
Working closely with the Head of Compliance in Ireland you will assist with financial crime compliance activities where you will be responsible for updating financial crime compliance policies and procedures (including the implementation of an annual Financial Crime RCSA process), to ensure these meet local Irish AML requirements; advice on client onboarding policies; and designing and delivering financial crime compliance training. You will also investigate alerts escalated from the EMEA Risk Surveillance team and prepare suspicious transaction reports (STRs) and Suspicious Transaction and Order Reports (STORs) as appropriate.
In addition, you will assist the Regulatory Assurance team in EMEA Compliance based in London with any broader EMEA thematic reviews which include the local entity business lines in the scope of the review, providing support with implementation of an annual RCSA process covering each entity's business lines.
You are an experienced compliance professional with at least 3-5 years' compliance advisory experience gained in an investment banking, legal or regulatory environment, across private side businesses including investment banking, corporate finance and capital markets. In addition, you will ideally have experience of Trading businesses across cash equities, foreign exchange and futures. You will have an up to date working knowledge of Irish capital markets and financial services laws, regulatory environment and products and an interest in gaining exposure to, and working closely with, the underlying business. Good understanding of key regulatory initiatives applicable to a MIFID firm such as MIFID and MIFIR are particularly important along with those regulatory initiatives applicable to a credit institution.
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships at all levels will be key to your success. You enjoy working autonomously, can determine priorities and able to deliver results within deadlines.
