Job description: The UK Client Asset Team and European Safeguarding of Client Asset (CASS/SGCA) is responsible for providing support to the Firm and the Directors responsible for Safeguarding of Client Assets across UK and European based entities to ensure compliance with regulatory rules. The team undertakes oversight and governance in relation to ensuring JPM's compliance with the respective UK Client money and Clients rules (CASS) and Luxembourg, German and Irish Safeguarding of Client Money and Client Assets Rules (SGCA). The team work closely with Operations , Business and Product Management spanning all lines of business across the Legal Entities in scope for CIB including Global Custody, Collateral Management, Funds Services , Escrow, Securities Lending, Liquidity Solutions , Derivatives, Futures and Options, FX , Equities and Fixed Income . In addition, the team partner with Compliance, Audit and Risk.
Summary of Responsibilities: The CASS/SGCA Team's primary responsibility is to provide direct support to the UK Client Asset Oversight Officers (CAOO) and the European Single Officers for them to adequately fulfil their CASS responsibility. The role involves management of the support model and frame work that drives accountability and ownership, across the organisation, of the Designated and Senior Ops/business managers who are accountable to the CAOOs or single officers. The team ensure appropriate process and control are in place across the organisation to fulfil regulatory requirements. The successful candidate needs to have strong analytical skills; the ability to work independently, the willingness to work across the various lines of business and is adaptable to change. In addition, the candidate needs to demonstrate extensive banking and compliance knowledge in working through CASS related issues, the ability to exercise sound judgment.
Manage governance support model to address issues across single and or multiple businesses to allow the CAOO and single officers to conduct effective oversight of the entities they are responsible for
Communicate and escalate appropriately with primarily, CAOO, single officers, compliance and senior business partners
Manage the CASS risk assessment process, external CASS/SGCA related audits, breach management, awareness training, policy and standards
Manage the daily client money segregation, maintenance of CASS/SGCA resolution pack and amalgamation of monthly CMAR
Build strong partnership with Business partners, Technology and Compliance
Lead the transformation agenda by enhancing the governance model to be data driven and effectively utilize appropriate technology (including in house and vendor solutions)
Prepare all relevant board updates on behalf of CAOO/single officers as well as multiple layer of communication across the Organization.
Be a face to the FCA, draft and manage all written communication to the FCA
Strong communication skills - both verbal and written. The role requires a confident and assertive communicator with the ability to push back when necessary.
