Control Management (CM) maintains a strong and consistent control environment across the firm. With Control Managers appointed for each Line of Business, Function and Region, there is a comprehensive coverage and joint accountability model with the business executive that promotes early operational risk identification and assessment, effective design and evaluation of controls and sustainable solutions to mitigate operational risk.
Control Management focuses on four areas:

The role will be part of AM APAC/Hong Kong Control Management Function.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
In partnership with the business teams in:
- Evaluating and performing an end-to-end analysis of the business' risk and control environment to identify significant gaps and weaknesses and determine root cause of control breaks - Creating a proactive risk and control culture that leverages proven evaluation strategies and sound change management protocols - Ensuring that controls are properly designed, operating effectively, and essential to a proactive risk and control culture that leverages proven evaluation strategies and sound change management protocols - Performing, reviewing and analysing program related data (e.g., KRI/KPI) to support business-related programs and strategies
As a Control Manager, lead / contribute to the following:
- Issue management, help to manage the full lifecycle of an issue and action plan by capturing details, tracking progress and closing (after obtaining appropriate evidence to substantiate closure) - Control governance & reporting, partner effectively with colleagues across the firm, business, operations management, legal, compliance, risk, audit, regulators and technology control functions to drive consistent and rigorous operational risk practices and Control programs including: control committees, risk mitigation, key risk indicators, control design and effectiveness evaluation/testing - End-to-end execution of Control and Operational Risk Evaluation (CORE), including control breaks and resolutions, to reduce financial loss, regulatory exposure, and reputational risk - New Business Initiative Approval reviews (NBIA), provide credible challenge to the business re control environment associated with new NBIAs - Error management program, understand and be able to execute policies and procedures associated with error management, including the use of error and the risk event data base. Ensure that escalations are appropriate and in accordance with guidelines. Understand error metrics including trends and work with business to initiate change where relevant. Influence senior management allocation of budget to address control gaps identified. - Driving consistency of control standards and programs across regions and line of business - Assist with regulatory and audit testing and remediation activities - Engage with control colleagues across the firm, business, operations management, legal, compliance, risk, audit, regulators and technology control functions
Bachelor's degree required
8+ years of relevant experience in control management, Legal and Compliance, or operational risk management
An understanding of Asset Management businesses, products and client services is preferable
Proficient knowledge of control and risk management concepts with respect to the aforementioned businesses
High potential individuals looking to broaden business knowledge

Possess intellectual curiosity, resourcefulness, excellent analytical and problem solving skills, ability to synthesize large amounts of information and propose recommendations
