Sustainable Credit Analyst (w/m/d)
Schroders' Credit function is a global corporate bond investment unit within one of the leading asset management firms in the world today. As of the middle of 2019, we ran USD65bn for all kinds of clients across the range of corporate credit. In London, Singapore and New York, we aim to deliver the highest alpha for our clients based on our biggest USP: our people.
We seek a Sustainable Credit Analyst to be the latest functional addition to our long history of investment in fundamental research. We are looking for Sustainable researchers to work with our growing team of Credit investment professionals and alongside our industry-leading central Sustainable Research & Stewardship unit to build & grow a new generation of sustainable investment products. The candidates will be embedded in our investment processes.
Based in London and Frankfurt, the successful candidates will be leading investment analyses from the Sustainable perspective, working alongside our market-leading portfolio managers leading on portfolio construction and our fundamental research analysts leading on corporate idiosyncratic analyses.
Constructing sustainable perspectives in the credit universe with our 16-strong Sustainable Research & Stewardship unit using state-of-the-art knowledge of current and developing issues.
Linking those perspectives into company analysis and portfolio positioning with our 35-strong fundamental credit analyst function (12 strong in Europe) and our 25 strong team of credit portfolio managers (8 strong in Europe).
Strengthening our analytical tools with Sustainable Research, fundamental credit analysts and credit portfolio managers.
Assessing specific sustainable bond structures, e.g. Green Bonds, for suitability into our portfolios.
Support and develop tools for the effective integration of ESG analysis into our stock/bond selection and valuation process across credit assets
Develop consistent reporting approach for sustainable strategies and portfolios.
Review and engage ESG data providers for the Credit asset class.
The successful candidate will have 3 years+ evidenced experience in sustainable investment
They possess a drive for sustainable and impact investing into an asset class with thin public domain quantitative data
They will be a thoughtful representative of the credit franchise and the firm with external company management and industry bodies & associations
Greater than 3 years' experience of working in an asset management/bank or other capital markets institution.
Proven experience and interest of building and operating sustainable research or other sustainable analytical role
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Data management skills (Excel/VBA fluency at a minimum; SQL-R-Python preferred)
Applicants with post-graduate degrees/qualifications will receive preference all else being equal.
English is Schroders' daily business language but further langauges (German/French) will be an advantage
