Reporting to the Team Lead, Financial Control this role will be responsible for the effective and efficient processing of payroll, provision of remuneration support and payroll system administration for the Fund. In this role, you will:
Work closely with the external payroll service provider to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the payroll data
Utilise and maintain payroll systems/software
Conduct reporting and analysis in relation to payroll activities, as well as reviewing and identifying any discrepancies in the data
Monitor and manage reconciliations between the payroll system and general ledger
Investigate, reconcile and resolve complex payroll issues
Ensure security, confidentiality and integrity of personnel information is always maintained
Ensure actual payments are aligned to reported payments and payroll summaries
Ensure all taxation requirements including income tax, FBT and corporate policies are complied with and adhered to
Ensure that risks within area of responsibility are effectively managed in line with Fund risk appetite and compliance requirements
Create and produce ad hoc payroll reports as required
Act as a point of reference between finance and human resources for payroll queries
Provide proactive advice and support to management and staff for any payroll related queries
Previous payroll experience
Ability to identify when data and analysis is materially incorrect, and obtain solutions
Competence and experience in the use and maintenance of payroll packages
Demonstrated working knowledge of relevant payroll and superannuation legislation and Acts
Capacity to work under pressure in an accurate and timely manner
Ability to coordinate tasks, set priorities and operate independently
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Proven ability to deal with confidential matters
Exposure to Human Resource practice
