Do work that matters:
The role will support the Financial Assistance Solutions (FAS) team within Direct Channels. The objective of the role is to maintain an effective risk management framework across FAS. This will involve a mix of BAU risk management activities, process view of risk, Risk in Change engagement and other risk related projects across the business, with a key focus on remediation activities.
Effective management of risk is a key enabler and foundational component for the Group, as evidenced by Strength as one of the four key strategic pillars.
More specifically you will:
Manage to the Compliance Incident Management Framework, including remediation activity.
Track open incidents to ensure timely completion, co-ordinate review, investigation and remediation
Assist in the development / refinement of the Control Self-Assessment framework in relation to Direct Lending:
Maintain the risk and control profile, and update the profile to align to changes across the business
Manage the Controls Assurance Program (CAP), ensuring tests are clearly defined and articulated, and group standards are met for quality and timeliness of testing. Where self-assessment testing is conducted by the business, sample review results to ensure integrity of results reported
Coordinate process view risk workshops with the business to review and update the risk profile (minimum annually) and conduct deep dives into controls
Collate and track risk remediation / action plans arising across the business
Ensure target dates are met and action plans are appropriately closed

The Risk and Control team within Direct Channels is a Line 1 Risk and Control function that supports the following businesses spread across multiple sites in Australia; Direct Lending, Direct Banking and Financial Assistance Solutions
The team provides a comprehensive and integrated risk support service, providing risk management advice and coordination of the implementation of risk management activities
We're interested in hearing from people who have:
Strong understanding of the dynamics and working of a sound risk and control environment
Can identify critical threats and opportunities and take action to resolve accordingly
Advanced oral and written communication skills, including the ability to influence across a range of stakeholder groups
Ability to analyse trends, diagnose problems and issues and then recommend appropriate actions dealing with the underlying root causes
