The Role Responsibilities
Strategy Support Global Head, CFCC, Governance in enhancing the CFCC governance framework, and delivering on the strategic agenda for Strategy, Governance and Core Compliance ("SGCC"). This includes supporting implementation of the CFCC governance framework of rules and practices to drive standardisation of CFCC operational procedures for effective supervision, control and management of CFCC risks.
Support the reporting to Group committees from the Conduct, Financial Crime and Compliance ("CFCC") function. Track required submissions to the Group committees to ensure that such submissions provide consistent and clear messages.
Support the reporting of key CFCC risks and issues to senior management and the relevant Group and Business risk committees.
Track key CFCC risks escalated by region and country risk committees
Develop a comprehensive understanding of the business model to provide support and challenge to enable appropriate and sustainable CFCC outcomes.
Maintain global CFCC standards which includes taking flexible approaches to the implementation and execution of Governance where Group standards are met and a risk-based approach permits.
Build and maintain an effective and constructive relationship with all key business and functional stakeholders that is based on trust, capability and integrity, providing timely, responsive and quality advice and guidance to enable the business and functions to meet/ achieve their strategic tactical objectives.
Contribute to the Group's approach towards addressing regulatory and financial crime risks to protect the reputation of the Group and to avoid significant financial loss.
Provide support to ensure the effective and smooth operations of the Group CFCC Risk Committees. This includes reviewing content to ensure that the Committees are delivering on their objectives and are operating in accordance with the approved delegated authorities.
Gather data points and review content to support the annual Committee Effectiveness Review process, analyse and track actions detailed in the Improvement plan.
Provide secretariat services to the following committees:
Conduct and Compliance Non-Financial Regulatory Risk Committee ("CCRC")
Compliance Process Governance Committee ("PGC")
Group Financial Crime Risk Committee ("GFCRC")
Support the agenda setting of the Committee meetings, review submissions to the Committees to ensure that papers are well structured, concise and suitably detailed, and coordinate the production of the monthly meeting packs
Maintain a repository of Committee papers and actions for wider CFCC stakeholder consumption
Follow up on actions or matters arising from the Committees and tracking through to resolution.
Support committees that derive their authority from the CCRC (collectively, "Committees")
Coordinate action tracking and updates to ensure risk information is available for escalation to the relevant Board and Group risk committees:
Establish CFCC standards to promote a culture of consistent standards to be delivered by the CFCC function.
Anticipate horizon risks that may have a significant impact and support the development of effective CFCC governance strategies to mitigate such horizon risks.
Collaborate with CFCC stakeholders to ensure proactive and timely identification, assessment, advice and dissemination of evolving regulatory changes/practices and associated risks, and proactive engagement in regulatory reform.
Coordinate updates on risk mitigating action plans
Inform management of serious regulatory breaches or where risk tolerances have been breached to support actions are taken quickly to remediate and/or activities are ceased.
Support the design and maintenance of the CFCC risks inventories
Support audits on the CFCC function and provide information and input to support lessons learned to the CFCC function.
Track audit findings and action items tagged to SGCC
Assist SGCC team members in the preparation of papers for submission to the Committees and other Group committees where required, engaging with stakeholders to coordinate input to (and review of) papers as appropriate.

Our Ideal Candidate
At least 3 years' experience in compliance and/or fcc, audit and/or regulatory risk management roles at a country/regional or group level
Good understanding of regulatory frameworks and banking regulations, and best practice risk management techniques
Knowledge of Standard Chartered's Enterprise Risk Management Framework and the Principal Risk Types, and the CFCC function's operational processes
Experience in delivering regulatory programmes in the finance industry would be advantageous
Proven experience with coordination of multiple dependencies and challenging stakeholders in a complex environment
Good drafting and analytical skills
Personal authority, integrity, and ethics
Ability to assess risk
Team player who demonstrates strong interpersonal skills
