The Role Responsibilities
Perform and conduct ongoing trade surveillance reviews of client's transactions based on the alerts generated from the system. Ensure compliance with the bank's policies and procedures which include but not limited to RM's selling process and suitability checks (eg. pre-trade approvals, proper risk disclosures, etc).
Perform ad-hoc investigations eg. incident reporting, client complaints reviews, etc. From a Compliance perspective, provide holistic assessment and advice to the relevant stakeholders to cover areas in relation to reputational risk, conduct issues, etc.
Sound technical knowledge in SG regulatory requirements (eg. MAS, SFA, FAA, etc) and familiarity with trade surveillance monitoring and market conduct requirements (eg. insider trading, front running, etc).
Ability to evaluate and independently assess the circumstances of each case and provide plausible solutions or proposal for issue closure.
Escalate issues and follow up with key stakeholders to ensure proper issue closure. End to end remediation completed and addressed.
Prepare and consolidate relevant reporting requirements in relation to issues/ updates within the Compliance team for reporting to external stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
Insofar as they relate to investigations on trade surveillance and market conduct issues or other incident reporting, be responsible for providing details of developments giving rise to a material risk that serious regulatory breaches or breaches of risk tolerances may occur and notifying any such breaches to all relevant stakeholders on a timely basis.
Maintain constructive and effective relationships with Front Office and Back Office functions and assist relevant Compliance heads to interface with and support all key business stakeholders.
Our Ideal Candidate
Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance and/or Business.
Relevant working experience (minimum 5-6 years) in private banking segment and/or audit background.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Work independently with minimal supervision.
Exposure in system implementation, operational and risk processes will be an added advantage.
A team player comfortable in engaging individuals at all levels within the organisation.
Ability to keep different streams of work organised and prioritised and committed to meet deadlines.
Ability to make decisions, willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges.
Motivator and willingness to share knowledge amongst the team.
Strong collaboration skills, especially with other operational risk colleagues and technology partners.
Ability to comprehend and learn quickly.
