The Role Responsibilities
Accountable for first line assurance of BCM policy, framework and controls .
Establish and maintain a Business Continuity strategy in line with Group standards and country strategy, to ensure business recovery capability is in place to meet the needs of business across country locations.
Establish and maintain a community of Department Continuity Coordinators (DCC's) across the country for the development, maintenance, and testing of Business Continuity Plans based on the Business Impact Analysis (BIA) for all departments.
Manage the DCC community and ensure they are appropriately trained in their Business Continuity duties; provide support and guidance as required.
Responsible for ensuring Business Continuity Plan (BCP) activations are initiated in line with recovery time objectives (RTO) by keeping management appraised during any interruption to business, and thereafter responsible for all activities required to ensure BCPs are effectively implemented.
Notify Regional/Group Business Resilience team of all BCP related audit activity in country and manage country audit responses.
Monitor local regulatory body for BCM requirements and report on compliance/gaps to functional management.
Responsible for performing country specific Key Control Self-Assessment (KCSA) checks and flag exceptions to the relevant risk committee.
Participate in any regulator driven industry working groups specific to the country.
Maintain and deliver a BCM testing and assurance activity schedule that includes exercising country IT DR plans.
Responsible for the oversight of BCP sites (including host/refugee, common area locations) maintenance, to ensure that they are available and functional for use in the event of an emergency situation.
Responsible for monitoring the changes to the business strategy and property portfolio to identify and mitigate risks to BCP site.
Responsible for providing client attestation to our clients endorsing our business resilience capability.
Delivery of an effective Crisis Management Framework, encompassing both Country Crisis Management Plans and Contingency Plans for specific identified threats.
Play the role of a facilitator for all crisis exercises conducted by the regulator and provide support to the CrMG during the exercise.
Collaborate with in-country CTM teams, to ensure IT DR capability meets business recovery requirements.
Provide guidance to the business for the business continuity related plans of the outsourced activity (Third party contingency plan/Exit Management plan).
Provide timely MIS to functional management on activities, tests, and incidents across the country.
Our Ideal Candidate
An understanding of Banking Operations and the Regulatory requirements governing Banking Operations.
An understanding of the technological infrastructure and applications used in the Bank.
An aptitude to acquire professional knowledge and educational accreditation in Business Continuity Planning.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Strong communication skills
Good project management skills.
Ability to analyse complex issues and translate these into clear and concise reports to facilitate decisions required from Senior Management.
Ability to work independently under tight deadlines and with a high degree of initiative.
Preferably a person of professional standing with experience of both the technical and managerial aspects of Business Continuity, IT Disaster Recovery and Crisis Management planning.
