The Role Responsibilities
Responsibility to ensure the Bank's compliance with all laws, regulations, guidelines, policies and procedures that apply to the business.
Ensuring changes to policies, procedures, laws, regulations and guidelines are suitably assessed to identify business impact and gap analysis of the compliance and regulatory risk. The changes are documented and communicated to staff in a timely and effective manner.
Provide timely local regulatory advice and recommendations to the Private Bank business and proactively monitors business specific regulatory developments.
Provide guidance on application and interpretation of laws, regulations and Compliance policies applicable to the business.
Review and advise on Country addenda to Group Product Approval Documents for local regulatory risks where necessary and advise the business on managementand mitigation of those risks in the best interests of Private Bank and being Here For Good.
Review and approve Financial Promotions in line with Group requirements.
Identify any new rules or regulations applicable to the business and partner with local management, perform gap analysis before developing policies and procedures .
Update and maintain the Key Obligations Registers for SFA, FAA and BA to ensure the procedures remain up-to-date and in compliance with local laws and regulations.
Assist in the development of training delivery program and conduct trainings on selected regulatory topics, as and when required. These include induction trainings.
Monitors compliance with internal policies and procedures including Compliance Monitoring Reviews and Local Control Sample Testing.
Assist in preparing regular, comprehensive and accurate Compliance reports reflecting the compliance status of the Business and any material compliance, regulatory and/or reputational risks for Private Bank and Compliance management.
Regulatory Annual Reporting - FAA S100/ SFA Form 28/ FIS
Ad-hoc MAS surveys and questionnaires.
Approvals for RM cross border social visits, Gift & Entertainment and Outside Business Interests.
RNF; assessment of adverse info discovered during staff screening (Fit and Proper Criteria); advisory on examination and certification requirements .
FIS related queries and liaison with MAS.
Regulatory breaches reporting; Incident report for regulatory breaches
Investigations on regulatory/ business conduct breaches (ad-hoc)
Our Ideal Candidate
In depth understanding of PvB Policies and Procedures
In depth understanding of local and international regulation
In depth understanding of the Private Bank organisation, structure, business and their interlinkages
Understanding of both sides of "the Scales" i.e. being a Business Partner and also an Independent Guardian
Excellent written and oral communication skills
A drive to remain fully conversant with both current and forthcoming regulations
Remaining abreast of forthcoming regulatory.
