What you'll do
In your new role, you'll make sure that all risks have been identified and effective controls are in place to monitor, manage and mitigate these risks.
You'll adopt a subject matter expert status on credit related projects across the portfolios and businesses, and collaborate with risk appetite and policy to provide appropriate input into sector and asset class reviews and credit policies.
Develop, implement and maintain portfolio management activities across all stages of the credit lifecycle for all products within the business portfolio
Drive consistency across products, ensuring existing best practice is quickly transferred to other areas, including setting and monitoring risk appetite limits for each product
Develop an effective credit risk management strategies portfolio, consistent with strategic aims and the target credit quality profile and within risk appetite
Collaborate with and influence key stakeholders, ensuring the effective management of the portfolio through a combination of strategies
Support the analytical requirements from the credit portfolios teams on areas such as leading indicators, forward looking credit risks and the potential threats to the portfolio and wider economic and market threats
The skills you'll need
You'll need excellent analytical skills with a strong grounding in, and experience of the application of concepts, including risk adjusted returns, risk based pricing, portfolio management, stress testing and segmentation analysis.
You should also have experience of credit scoring and statistical modelling or similar, coupled with the ability to translate complex analytical concepts into a concise and simple proposal.
You'll also need:
Well-developed people and project management skills, with a track record in delivering multiple proposals and initiatives concurrently, on time and within budget
Effective investment in people demonstrated through promoting involvement of others in decision making and problem solving
Proven ability to effectively engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders
The ability to communicate at a very senior level internally and externally
Working knowledge of analytical tools and techniques, such as SAS and SQL
