Purpose of the job
The Tribe Lead (TL) is a passionate, inspiring and results-focused leader who works collaboratively. The TL is accountable for the end to end delivery of the business and their main goal is to realise value for clients and stakeholders. They will do this by creating empowered Squads that are motivated to take on business problems and deliver client value with excellence in execution. The TL gets energy from creating an environment in which people bring out the best in themselves and in which Squads have the courage and are enabled to take responsibility for their own purpose. They stimulate innovation by initiating new initiatives for their Tribe, encouraging Squads to test and learn by producing prototypes and MVPs. The TL has a deep knowledge of the business area/domain both internally and externally, and looks to wider market trends to demonstrate thought leadership and bring innovation to the organisation. The TL should be willing to understand the 'How' in order to prioritise the 'Why'.
Create the mission for the Tribe aligned to the strategic agenda and driving realisation with the optimal number of resources
Be the face/voice of the Tribe with regards to wider stakeholder engagement
Be able to explain and justify the priorities on which the Tribe Squads are working, both to Business stakeholders and other Tribe Leads
Strong coordination with other Tribe Leads/Departmental Leadership to ensure that dependencies are accounted for and appropriately prioritised
Leading key Tribe ceremonies and processes incl. Tribe Demo, Tribe Retrospective, Quarterly Business Reviews, Big Room Planning
Reviewing the required Squads and capabilities within the Tribe to enable realisation of the mission
Be accountable for delivery against the OKRs and/or revision of the OKRs based on new data and learnings
A supporter and core sponsor of Communities, Guilds and enabling initiatives
Inspiring and show energy and passion for creating outstanding business outcomes
Think 'big' but value incremental improvements
Experienced with Agile principles and motived to lead the teams across the organisation
Motivating people to embrace the new way of working by delivering at their best
Focus on collaboration, put aside ego in order to facilitate others to be successful
Influence without authority, trust and empower Squads and give responsibility to them, using coaching techniques to provide constructive challenge
Be data and client driven and bring evidence-based decision-making to explain 'why'
Bring the stakeholders/clients on the journey by creating ever tightening feedback loops
Work with enabling Squads/departments to create a culture of move fast, learn faster without compromising quality
Knowledge & Experience
Relevant professional experience, well connected within WM a plus
Proven leadership experience
Track record of delivering meaningful outcomes in one of the key areas ("client journey", "products", "regulatory, platform & data")
Experience working with cross-functional Squads/teams to manage the output
Proven experience in strategic and large transformations to deliver impact and drive value
Strong business and commercial acumen\u2014has a drive to deliver better, faster and cheaper
Proven experience of financial planning and cost control\u2014a track record of delivering within budget and using resources effectively
Strong on dependency management and effective resolution
