Reporting directly to the AVP, Personal Banking Analytics, the Senior Manager, Personal Lending Analytics, will lead a team of high performing Business Insight Analysts in working with the Personal Lending business to develop and implement exclusive analytical solutions and help make analytics an ambitious advantage for TD.
The individual will have full ownership of analytical strategy for Personal Lending and will work in close consultation with Personal Lending executives and data and analytics teams across Personal Banking and the enterprise. We are looking for a self-motivated individual who thrives in a dynamic fast-paced and high impact business teams.
Analytical expertise and thought leadership:
Act as a \u201CSingle Point of contact\u0022 for all Personal Lending Analytics initiatives including partnering with Enterprise advanced analytics Centre of Excellence
Represent Personal Lending as analytics expert on all analytical projects, from business casing to advanced analytics projects, challenging analytical thinking and methodology, and leveraging enterprise Centre of Excellence adequately
Set the analytical agenda for Personal Lending, proactively identifying analytical opportunities that enable new business value creation and/or support existing business objectives
Define, own and deliver a comprehensive analysis plan linked to key business imperatives
Identify and articulate Personal Lending long term data needs and use cases to evolve TD's data assets
Stakeholder management and collaboration:
Ensure team collaboration with partners on business problems/issues and develop analytic solutions to support insight generation that align to strategy and drives shareholder value
Build trusted relationships with product partners and other key internal and external partners (Enterprise Analytics, Data Governance & Reporting, Marketing, Risk, Customer Strategy, etc.)
Prioritize analytic initiatives in line with business priorities, manage stakeholder expectations in a timely and collaborative fashion, ensuring timelines and required efforts are understood by Product partners
Inspire business partners to adopt data and analytics in the strategic decision process, helping them understand the value of analytics through effective communication and joint strategic planning
Work in semi-agile fashion to create end to end solutions from the business problem scoping to the analytical solution to the strategy to implementation
Business impact and customer centricity:
Develop a deep understanding of the business strategy and objectives, the P&L drivers and value levers
Develop business cases that quantify the impact of analytic solutions which create measurable value. Ensure the business value of analytics is consistently measured and communicated to Product partners
Transform our customer focus by delivering customer-centric insights and analytics. Help shift the mindset from product-centric to customer-centric using data and analytics
Ensure all analytics models and outputs produced by your team are compliant and audit-ready. Place TD's customers' best interests at the heart of your analyses and use of data
Team leadership and talent development:
Enhance analytics capability by developing a \u201Cbest-in-class\u201D analytics team that delivers meaningful insights that drive measurable business value. Help make analytics a competitive advantage for TD
Manage and coach a team of 4-6 Business Insight Analysts to deliver analytical solutions that drive business results; challenge their work and understand their strengths to help unlock their full potential
Be an active member of Personal Banking Analytics' senior leadership team, involved in key decisions and accountable for initiatives affecting the broader team strategy
Oversee strategies to attract, motivate and retain a highly diverse, qualified and engaged team to fulfill current and future business needs, creating and sustaining a high performing inclusive culture
Knowledge and Skills Required
Proven analytical thinker with track record of delivering business impact and results through developing and executing on innovative analytics solutions
Strong analytic skills, including data analysis, business casing, customer insights development, segmentation analysis, and predictive models
Acute business acumen and strategic mindset, strong product knowledge, with the ability to provide meaningful insights for sound decision making
Strong influencing and collaboration skills, with experience working in a cross-functional setting delivering analytics services to multiple stakeholders, planning and managing/prioritizing a large pipeline of projects
Previous hands-on coding and modeling experience with strong understanding of analytics best practices
Passion for creating business value through analytics and a customer-centric mindset
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to communicate analytic concepts to non-technical audiences at executive levels
Proven ability to deliver analytics through others, to coach and develop analysts with diverse backgrounds and skillsets, and to hire and retain top talent
In-depth industry knowledge, including current big data trends and challenges globally
Advanced university degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics or other analytically based discipline, preferably at a Masters degree or equivalent
7\u002B years of relevant experience in analytics, data science and/or consulting, ideally in an influencing or advisory capacity
Experience managing a team of highly capable business insight and data analysts (Experience managing data scientists and advanced modelers is a bonus)
Strong knowledge of analytical tools such as SAS, SQL, R, Python, and MS Office applications such as Access, Excel and Power Point
