The associate in the early stage practice is responsible for assisting with portfolio management, client outreach, client onboarding, tracking portfolio credit/regulatory issues and supporting cross-sell opportunities. This role supports the VPs and Managing Director and involves collaborating with cross-functional SVB teams representing credit cards, letters of credit, foreign exchange, treasury management and private banking, with the goal of orchestrating a superior client experience and maximizing support of client relationships.
Support VP with portfolio of early-stage clients (tech and healthcare) and in growing SVB's market share with top-tier startups
Screen inbound prospects, evaluate quality and fit, lead sales discussions, and articulate SVB's value proposition to convert qualified prospects into new business opportunities;
Maintain a deep understanding of SVB's products and services and anticipate client's need for debt, credit cards, 409a valuations, and cash management products;
Lead account administration by writing and updating credit documents as it relates to business credit cards and cash management products, and work with SVB's Relationship Advisors to ensure efficient and seamless client experience (including matters concerning on-boarding);
Assist VPs in developing unique events and programming to help ESP clients succeed and enhance SVB's brand image as the leading bank for technology startups;
Support the team in tracking and analyzing key metrics related to client acquisition, fundraising, referrals to other teams, and conversion of cross-sell opportunities;
Much of the work will be in collaboration with VPs and Managing Director. The candidate should have strong task management, prioritization and project management skills, and the ability to work independently and have the availability to attend networking and evening events occasionally. The candidate should have an Interest in startups, investor relationships, and cross-collaboration with internal groups. A successful candidate will engage in staying up to date on technology market and sector trends.
Strong written and communication skills are essential. The candidate should approach each client engagement, electronic or live, as an opportunity to advise clients and to improve their business standing through that advice.
