The Risk Management Lead (RML) works in the Risk Management division, which is responsible for developing and maintaining enterprise risk management frameworks, programs and reporting structures to help ensure risks are identified, assessed, monitored and mitigated within the Banks risk appetite. Related to this role, the Risk Management division is responsible for the design, execution and ongoing refinement of several key programs and systems, including the RSA Archer Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) platform, business resiliency coordination, vendor risk management oversight, operational risk event reporting, and risk assessment.
This role will support the Director of Operational Risk Management and Enterprise Risk Manager by leading and enhancing risk management programs, systems and reporting. In addition, this role will consult and partner with business unit leaders and executive management in the design, refinement and automation of internal controls.
Leads risk management programs by providing oversight of day to day program activities and in the ongoing development and refinement of program practices, processes and standards.
Leads or participates in a variety of risk identification and assessment activities related to risk management programs, such as the business resiliency threat risk assessment, scenario analysis, table-top exercises (e.g. cyber security table-tops), corporate risk assessment and business unit risk and control self-assessments.
Acts as the RSA Archer GRC business administrator which includes helping design, configure, and maintain the platform. Supports other business units integration and configuration of the Archer GRC into their audit, risk or compliance activities.
Effectively challenges and partners with business units in the assessment and documentation of risks and controls.
Conducts research, analyzes data and prepares presentations on a wide variety of topics including regulatory matters, emerging risks, trends and risk management best practices.
Develops key risk metrics and dashboards for reporting to management committees and the board of directors.
Recommends enhancements to internal processes and practices using a risk-based approach, with a continuous improvement mindset informed by industry best practices and regulatory standards.
Helps with the review of work performed by the Senior Risk Analyst and Risk Analyst to ensure the consistent application of program practices, standards and procedures.
Acts as back up to other Risk Management Lead(s) in support of the portfolio of risk programs.
Communicates the results of risk assessments, risk program activities and analysis to a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
Bachelors degree in business, finance, accounting, economics or other technical degree plus 4-6 years of experience in risk management, internal audit, consulting or public accounting.
Strong analytical skills, problem solving, attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently on complex projects in a fast-paced environment.
Intermediate Excel, PowerPoint and data visualization skills.
Graduate degree and/or professional certification (such as CPA, FRM, CIA, CISA).
Knowledge of the financial services industry and knowledge of leading risk management practices and governance frameworks.
Experience with GRC platforms (preferably RSA Archer), data analytics tools (e.g. Power BI) or automation software (robotics process automation software).
Experience in control design and automation, agile methods or business process reengineering.
