The Credit Underwriting team reviews, analyses and approves credit applications to support various lines of business. We optimize credit opportunities for our customers by determining, structuring, packaging and authorizing credit facilities while adhering to credit risk policies and established guidelines. Our Credit Underwriters assess the credit status of customers, provide credit administrative and operational support and evaluate their financial portfolio while protecting the interest of the Bank. Are you a critical thinker who can review, analyze and evaluate credit applications, in accordance with policy and procedures, to authorize credit for customers, within designated discretionary lending limits? Do you like collaborating with business partners by providing credit support, solutions and recommendations through the credit adjudication process? Ensure all credit decisions (approval / decline) within assigned limits are fulfilled on certain credit products efficiently and effectively, meeting service level agreements (SLAs)
Provide credit support / solutions / recommendations when evaluating / analyzing credit applications for decisions in accordance with bank policies and procedures
Ensure customer concerns / issues are handled appropriately and resolved in a timely manner, escalate when required
Prioritize and manage own daily workload to meet SLA requirements for service and productivity
Accurately decision credit deals within established standards and limits and adjudicate within compliance guidelines
Contribute to the achievement of satisfactory audits by understanding & following audit and process guidelines
Works autonomously within established procedures focusing on performing credit underwriting /adjudication on a narrow range of simple credit products
Provides authorization required for credit adjudication based on the Bank's Discretionary Lending limits criteria
Sound knowledge on credit products, end-to-end credit processes and systems for own specialized area
Participate fully as a member of the team, support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues/ points of interest
Support the team by continuously enhancing knowledge / expertise in own area and participate in knowledge transfer within the team and business unit
Participate in personal performance management and development activities, including cross training within own team
High School diploma / Undergraduate degree with over 1 year of relevant work experience
A self-starter with excellent organizational and communications skills with ability to prioritize and multi-task to meet tight deadlines
Expertise in business unit and operational functions of fraud, and regulatory requirements for the supported region
Proficiency with MS Office and analytical techniques
A self-motivator with go getter attitude and positive personality who has willingness to accept challenges in a demanding environment and resolve them with minimal direction
Monitor Generic Email for rush requests ensuring employee deals are assigned to underwriter
Review rush credit requests to ensure they are fit for underwriting
Apply expert Lending knowledge to optimize each credit opportunity, approaching credit requests objectively and leaving no stone unturned
Adjudicate and authorize credit card requests within our Risk Appetite while meeting or exceeding Service Level Agreements
Work collectively with our partners to grow the business within our Risk Appetite, providing viable alternatives/options to credit requests whenever possible
