The Role : Reportingto the Head of Investment Management (IM) Data Solutions, the Data Engineer willlead, design and architect solutions to complex data integration, processre-engineering, data science, and automation problems. This is a uniqueopportunity to join the IM Data Solutions team, a small, multi-disciplinaryteam that is transforming the way information is created, used and communicatedwithin BNY Mellon IM. The group works directly with BNY Mellon's IM boutiqueson strategic projects, creating valuable tools and insights for decision makersacross portfolio management, sales, marketing, and other key areas of thebusiness. The Data Solutions team capitalizes on opportunities across businesslines using the best tools and practices, like machine learning, econometrics,agile development (scrum/kanban), and modern collaborative data platforms. Responsibilities :
Lead data engineering and/or data science projects tosupport IM boutiques
Use domain expertise to understand business requirementsand design the right solution
Build or implementdata pipelines, databases, visualizations, and other data tools (hands-on)
Contribute to teamin a wide range of technical areas by instituting new practices and stayingabreast of the latest technical developments
Take initiative tolead/contribute to overall team efforts in software development, dataengineering, data science, and technical consulting
Work closely with otherdata engineers and data scientists to improve processes and enable fasterinsight-generation from complex datasets
Qualifications Preferred Qualifications :
BA/BS Degree (advanced degrees and/or CFAs are great too)
5-7 years generalbusiness experience, especially in financial services, asset management, and/ormanagement consulting or similar environments
2-3 years of data engineering,data architecture, data science, and/or software engineering experience preferred
Experience with machinelearning algorithms and techniques
Experience withmodern data pipelines and/or data operating platforms (e.g. Dataiku, Alteryx, Spark)
Able to leadad-hoc and structured product teams within an agile framework
Excellentinterpersonal skills necessary to accomplish goals through others, includingemployees, peers, and other function/business areas of the company
