The Real Estate Risk Intmd Analyst is a developing professional role. Deals with most problems independently and has some latitude to solve complex problems. Integrates in-depth specialty area knowledge with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices. Good understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing the objectives of the subfunction/ job family. Applies analytical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies. Requires attention to detail when making judgments and recommendations based on the analysis of factual information. Typically deals with variable issues with potentially broader business impact. Applies professional judgment when interpreting data and results. Breaks down information in a systematic and communicable manner. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to exchange potentially complex/sensitive information. Moderate but direct impact through close contact with the businesses' core activities. Quality and timeliness of service provided will affect the effectiveness of own team and other closely related teams. Overseeing risks taken in connection with real estate activities which includes extensions of credit that are secured by liens on or interests in real estate, direct and indirect private equity and public market real estate investments, capital markets, construction lending, servicing, any consumer or commercial loan undertaken when real estate security or real estate activity, or an asset sale, or a refinancing is contemplated as a first way out.
Manage the risk / reward dynamics for the Bank's Mortgage portfolio through ongoing validation, rationalization and formulation of overall credit strategy and policies and procedures pertaining to the entire risk management credit cycle to assure a strong governance model and risk culture
Conduct data analysis using SAS to fine-tune the acquisition / portfolio management strategies in order to optimize risk and reward trade-off
Monitor the portfolio mix and ensuring product performs to profitability, risk benchmarks and corporate guardrails
Participate in the development and monitoring the performance and effectiveness of statistically models
Prepare and timely submit regulatory reports
Ensure compliance to all local and U.S. Laws and regulatory guidelines and Global policies and procedures
Ensure all credit processes are in compliance with company policies and requirements set out by regulators through effective execution of control programs such as self-assessment, quality assurance, application audit
Collaborate with other functions such as Product, Credit operations, Finance, Technology etc. to drive various business initiatives and proper execution on risk control and portfolio actions
Degree holder in Qualitative Analysis, Mathematics, Statistics, Accounting, Economics or other related Quantitative disciplines
Minimum 5 years' of experience in consumer credit and risk management
Analytical and logical with proficiency in data analysis using statistical or database program e.g. SAS, Access or Excel
Self-initiative, effective communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to motivate others, strong sense of compliance awareness
Strong knowledge and experience in managing credit scorecards, stress testing, segmentation and Basel models
Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience
