Risk is the independent risk oversight function of DWS, working closely with Portfolio Management, Trading and other support and control functions. The Chief Control Office (CCO) within DWS is an independent function responsible for protecting the business as well as being a trusted advisor and partner for supporting sustainable growth. CCO comprises Legal, Compliance Anti Financial Crime and Risk Management. The Investment Risk team is a part of Risk Management - a global organization with team members in Frankfurt, Berlin, Luxembourg, New York, Zurich, Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo focusing on the Investment Platform.

What You'll Do:
The role pertains to market, counterparty, credit and liquidity risk while also taken into account performance analytics
You will be instrumental in advancing the risk management framework while supporting growth initiatives within a focus region for the firm
Work in a rapidly changing and entrepreneurial business environment in growth region and product line for DWS
Insight into a dynamic and evolving risk discipline across a highly diversified and expanding product offering
Ability to influence risk management framework design and implementation for illiquid alternatives products
Develop a broad understanding of DWS investment strategies, their associated risks and mitigating controls
Skills You'll Need:
Design and development of appropriate risk analysis across the fiduciary platform and tailored analysis for individual business mandates
Production and analysis of Risk Indicators for alternative investments
Periodic review and validation of models, policies and procedures used to for the risk management of illiquid alternative assets
Subject matter expertise and understanding of key risk and valuation drivers for a variety of illiquid alternative assets (real estate, private equity, debt (senior, mezzanine), CLO's and fund of funds investments (hedge funds and private equity))
Technical knowledge of financial markets, products and processes as well as related valuation and risk models (e.g. DCF, Multiple Approach, VaR , stress testing)
Skills That Will Help You Excel:
Strong interpersonal skills; role requires constant interaction with professionals within the regional and global risk IRQM organization, across the business (portfolio managers, relationship managers, business management) and externally (e.g. regulators, service providers)
Ability to communicate issues to senior management proactively and effectively; ability to translate complex risk management concepts and analysis into succinct points driving action is essential
Experience with and ability to learn core risk management concepts across a diverse set of instrument types, business mandates and risk disciplines (counterparty credit, market, liquidity)
Experience in the financial industry (buy-side strongly preferred), with focus on market, credit, counterparty, liquidity risk
Minimum relevant undergraduate degree or equivalent; an advanced degree is a plus
