The role is required to lead and provide oversight to a Product team within Cash & Banking Services Change Portfolio.
Provides management and leadership of cross functional matrix Product Teams; Shapes early Product vision in conjunction with key internal stakeholders and or Industry bodies; Delivers real client and business benefits through coherently designed Products whilst ensuring a fast route to market.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
Product Strategy Work with business stakeholders and other Product Managers to define the initial strategy and business vision of the Product(s). Be able to articulate early strategic vision clearly in both verbal and written formats and be able to comfortably switch from ultimate client & business outcomes to more operating model and technical solution design depending on the audience.
Product Design Take complex client and business problems and opportunities and provide clear direction on high-level requirements, design expectations and success criteria. Work closely with other Product Managers, Product Owners and Architecture Solutions during this early phase. A balance between ideal vision and a pragmatic route to deliver early client and business benefits will be a core design principle.
Product Management Lead a team of Product Owners and Business Analysts to shape and progress the Product through the Scaled AGILE framework. Work closely with assigned Project Managers from the Execution team to ensure the Product process is manged in a controlled way and has transparent reporting on progress.
Product Planning Together with other Product Managers, Business, IT and Execution team put together regular Program Increment (PI) plans that outlined to the content and priorities for the quarter or Product release ahead. Always strive to provide as much forward planning as possible for the overall Product pipeline. Review these plans on a monthly basis with the stakeholders and make in play adjustments as required.
Product Delivery As the Product moves through the process into delivery ensure that close contact is maintained and the appropriate support is given to the Product Owner and their teams to ensure that eventual Product outcome meets the desired success criteria.
Product Consultant Be the point of contact for the business on matters related to the Product in questions. Stay up to date on market events related to the Product and ensure that industry trends are incorporated into the ongoing Product roadmap thinking.
The successful candidate will benefit from having:
Market Knowledge of Cash Products and Industry Change
Previous experience working large scale, complex change initiatives
Comfortable presenting to senior individuals and groups both internally and externally (industry bodies/regulators)
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
Strong Stakeholder Management skills
Exposure and understanding of Project & Product Change methodologies
Solid understanding of Northern Trust's existing Cash process, business and IT architecture
