The Business Manager role will at a high level be responsible for business oversight for the Relationship Management and Client Service Delivery Management teams.
This role will report directly to the Head of GFS UK Relationship Management and will have responsibilities covering the Relationship Management team and the UK Client Service Delivery Management team.
Responsibilities of the role include:
Being able to assesses business risk and document key risks and controls in the business Risk and Control Self- Assessment
Being responsible for creating and maintaining business unit procedures that are compliant with corporate compliance policies, organisational and regulatory requirements. Including MiFID, GDPR, CSDR
Overseeing compliance related activities for the teams' e.g. timely completion of AML, client complaints, CASS attestations etc.
Identifying report and track any compliance, CASS and security breaches as well as any conflicts of interest.
Coordinating / Auditing compliance testing that is the responsibility of the teams ensuring timely delivery of data and effective closure of any audit findings
Serving as the lead for the teams on compliance initiatives, managing to completion and keeping management and partners informed. Including co-ordination of any training as required.
Displaying a balanced, cross-functional perspective, liaising with the business to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity
Effectively liaising with 2nd and 3rd line of defence teams
Participating in any outsourced functions
Co-ordinating and managing key initiatives
Providing provisional support of operations
Managing risk and compliance obligations for the teams as a 1 st Line of Defence business unit
Contributing to leadership meetings
Representing the business on corporate risk and compliance initiatives
Leading maintenance and enhancement of business processes, systems and reporting to ensure the teams comply with risk and compliance obligations as a 1st Line of Defence business area

Excellent oral and written communication skills
Prior experience managing direct reports
Effective prioritisation skills
Demonstrated organisational adaptability
Advanced knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel and SharePoint
Good functional / industry knowledge including technical knowledge of C&IS services provided
Highly flexible and adaptable to change, self-motivated and able to independently drive results
Strong analytical skills: ability to analyse and synthesize large amounts of information into concise and structured output.
Problem solving: think logically and deconstruct a larger problem into sub-components, prioritize issues and allocate resources
Structured communication skills: ability to communicate complex ideas top-down, ask targeted questions to arrive at solutions
Interpersonal skills: ability to engage diverse set of stakeholders, understand their viewpoints, build long-term relationships, create a collaborative and inspirational environment within the team
Previous experience in risk, compliance, consultancy or strategic analysis beneficial
