The Sr. Liquidity Product Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining a set of on-balance sheet and/or off-balance sheet products designed to meet the full spectrum of SVB's clients' needs. The Sr. Liquidity Product Manager will need to focus on multiple priorities including balance growth, interest expense, development of new products, and general partner education regarding liquidity and markets. This role is expected to exercise creativity, critical thinking, analytics, and collaboration to solve problems. Although the role does not include direct reports, the person needs to be a thought leader across Liquidity Management and SVB more broadly. Additionally, the Sr. Liquidity Product Manager needs to have sufficient analytical expertise to provide guidance to other team members in modeling deposit products. The following are essential functions:
Liquidity Thought Leadership
Provide thought leadership within team related to liquidity products, competition, markets and economy
During development of products within agile framework support liquidity strategy and priorities
Financial and Product Analysis
Utilize excel, access and/or SQL to develop both financial and product models that support research and analysis
Utilize excel to complete financial analysis to review and propose adjustments to pricing, rates and margins that impact expense and revenue associated with products
Provide financial analysis expertise and guidance for other liquidity product managers
Product Design and Development
Acts as primary product role within agile development framework
Act as senior product manager to design products, write user stories, develop operational procedures, complete specifications and support testing
Work with partners to ensure products are built and/or updated within the scope set by the Head of Liquidity Product Management
Provide guidance to other product managers within agile framework
Develop internal and external communication and training materials to support roll out of new products and updates/changes to existing products
Maintain and update key product materials and agreements
BAU Project Management to maintain, build and support Liquidity Management projects and smaller product specific efforts
B.S. degree or equivalent experience required. MBA is a plus.
6+ years of Deposit Product Management, Finance, Corporate Treasury or Treasury Management product experience
Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) is a plus
Industry expertise in Liquidity Product Management covering both On-balance sheet deposit options (MMA, CD, IBDDA, DDA, ECR, FCA/MCA/ICA, and Packages) and Off-balance sheet liquidity options (automated sweep to MMMF, Eurodollar, and Master Note)
Understanding of bank balance sheet and income statement as well as short term money markets (Treasuries, Commercial Paper, MMMF, Fed Funds, etc...) and economics of yield curve.
Strong Analytical skills
Strong interpersonal and communications/presentation skills
Client focused including ability to think in terms of client experience/perspective
Ability to do what it takes to make your product and team successful
Experience with agile
Prior experience in Corporate Treasury, Financial Performance and Analysis or Product Management in banking industry
A proven track record in executing projects/strategies across multiple stakeholders
Strong ability in excel in support of deposit modeling and revenue impacts
Familiarity with relevant regulatory materials, in particular with regard to liquidity and balance sheet management for commercial deposits and money market mutual funds
A firm grasp of specific trends impacting the banking industry with an overlay of knowledge of broader macro-economic trends
Ability to translate market trends and accompanying client needs into commercially viable solutions.
Effective and concise communicator at all levels, both verbal and written.
