You will be part of the Compliance team that is responsible for the full spectrum of the branch's compliance framework, monitoring activities for Singapore branch as well as other offices within Asia Pacific region. You will play a critical role in minimising risks associated with Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism, as well as to ensure controls are implemented effectively and timely.
about the role
You will be responsible for the Singapore Branch's Know Your Customer (KYC), Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and On-boarding policies.
Provide advice to KYC processing team on AML/CFT matters
Responsible for KYC and sanctions screening for all incoming and outgoing payments transactions
Perform review of wire transfers, trade finance transactions and investment banking transactions and perform necessary research to determine true sanctions matches
Evaluate KYC files to understand entity structure, business and risk profiles, expected activity and account history
Perform screening of Negative Media, Politically Exposed Persons and/or Sanctions
Determining unusual account activity through transaction analysis and monitoring transactions flagged by Mantas
Liaise with external parties like Auditors and Regulators
Assist with reports to Head Office from Compliance perspective
skills and experience required
At least 3 years of experience in AML, Compliance, Audit, Operational Risk Management, Financial Crime Compliance or in any similar control function
Prior experience in interpretation and application of AML laws & regulations
Experience in monitoring transactions, market surveillance and financial crime investigations is an added advantage
Detail-oriented and analytical
Strong stakeholder management and communications skills
Strong research and analytical skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
