A highly specialist Senior Legal Counsel with pensions and EU regulatory experience is required for a leading financial services provider, in Surrey.
Based in the Surrey HQ offices near the M25, our client provides international investment and retirement solutions. Privately owned, they are 100% focused on their clients, not their shareholders. The business has decided to strengthen and grow its retirement solutions capability in order to provide occupational pension schemes. With recent European legislation being implemented, a qualified solicitor is required to advise the business across Europe.
As part of the wider European Legal team, you will be advising on:
Directive (EU) 2016/2341 on the activities and supervision of institutions for occupational retirement provisions (IORPs)
Advising on local legal and regulatory requirements across each European country where there is a pensions business
Working closely with legal teams, risk and compliance teams across Europe, specifically Luxembourg and Dublin
You must be a qualified solicitor with experience and knowledge of the European pensions / retirement provisions
Candidates direct from private practice seeking to move in house are welcome to apply. Additionally those already with in-house experience will be appropriate
You must be commercial and able to advise on a range of regulatory and commercial matters
