The Vice President will work closely with investment team members, senior management, Brookfield affiliates (investment professionals from other business areas within Brookfield's platform) and investors. Primary responsibilities include the diligence and execution of special situation equity investments by leading and working with deal teams to source, evaluate, and execute transactions. The Vice President will also be highly involved in the planning and execution of building BSOP's Europe strategy and footprint.
Conducts research to support the development of investment strategies and identify transaction opportunities.
Screen and evaluate new investment opportunities.
Conduct fundamental company and industry research.
Perform extensive due diligence including comprehensive corporate financial and valuation analyses.
Work with deal teams to develop financial models including income, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
Prepare presentation materials and analysis to present deals to internal investment committees and third-party investors.
Monitor new and existing investments and interacting with management teams.

Demonstrated track record of excellence in academic, professional environments
Previous relevant experience in financial services with a focus on investing in equity, debt or structured products.
Previous buy-side experience is essential.
Desire to work in an entrepreneurial environment and self-motivated to take on significant responsibilities.
Ability to work with deal team members that are located across geographies.
High attention to detail.
Analytical with strong understanding and execution of applied financial, investment analyses, and complex modelling ability.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), and ability to interact across all levels of the organization (makes the complicated simple – articulates views clearly and concisely without jargon).
Fluency in English is essential, additional European language skills are beneficial.
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
