The Vice President, Client Service/Relations will partner and support Hong Kong Institutional clients to execute existing business plans, proactively identify new business relationships and opportunities, service existing client base, and maintain external distribution lists; answer incoming sales and investment related phone calls and emails. The Representative is responsible for staying current with our strategies and be able to articulate the philosophy, process, and trade rationales. Given the small team size, the position requires a detail oriented professional who can maintain flexibility to get projects completed, able to handle multiple tasks, and react to potentially short deadlines.
Assist with business development and client management i.e., data requests, onsite meetings, organizing critical client communications, etc.
Provide timely and critical follow-up to consultants and clients
Proactively communicate and coordinate with colleagues throughout the firm on marketing programs and materials development including sales, product, market strategy, market research, graphics, compliance, etc.
Follow up on outstanding prospect issues moving the sales process forward
Assist in the RFP process with internal and broader organization support staff in the production of RFPs
Provide a professional, efficient and compliant service to intermediaries and direct clients/consultants who contact us via telephone, correspondence and e-mail
Learn and implement the use of various systems including Factset, MS CRM to manage client/prospect data, Bloomberg, etc.
Work with existing client base to provide optimal level of service and further enhance relationships
Respond to internal and external field requests as needed
Follow up on the sales activities by gathering and sending strategy information to prospects in order to insure continuity of the sales process
Maintain knowledge level of focus firm programs (Key accounts) and product approvals
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
Demonstrable experience gained within an institutional client service, client relations or sales role.
Experience gained within Greater China, with an emphasis in Hong Kong.
Knowledge of liquid alternatives and/or hedge fund investment strategies/products.
Preferred professional qualifications: CFA, CAIA, CPA
Ability to build strong working relationships with senior sales, service and product professionals
Excellent presentation skills
Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
Excellent team player who likes to work hard and anticipates needs
Language skills: Cantonese (Hong Kong local language) and English. Mandarin is good but not required
Strong work ethic and intellectual curiosity
Ability to manage multiple tasks and to prioritize to meet deadlines
Demonstrated success in process and project management skills
Ability to work under pressure and accommodate changing needs
