- Collaborate with global workplace and design teams, leveraging internal and partner resources based in Hong Kong, Mumbai, London and New York - Form part of the global team in developing and maintaining global policies, guidelines, processes for workplace and design, framed around the employee experience including design, brand, technology and wellness - Assist with sourcing opportunities through the global procurement of design services, furniture, fixtures and finishes in collaboration with Project Management / Procurement. - Maintain an active awareness and understanding of global workplace trends, innovations and opportunities.
Regional - Assist with the development of workplace delivery model from a regional project-based approach to a consistent and integrated global, business as usual approach. - Assist with identifying and developing opportunities for workplace improvements for the Asia portfolio with the global direction. - Engage across our business units, our partners in Human Resources, Technology & Data and Corporate Communications to ensure the success of this important initiative. - Integrate planning and design to deliver a holistic workplace, by collaborating with the functional groups (property, projects and engineering teams to fully incorporate all infrastructure elements) - Drive regional engagement and communicate the standards to internal and external Project design resources, ensuring that consistency and conformity with the standards are achieved. - Ensure that records, files and approval documentation are up to date and accurate in accordance with set Firm procedures. - Drive the collection of workplace data through the implementation of workplace investigations (i.e., occupancy tracking, surveys, interviews etc.) and work with the workplace performance manager to understand data implications
Standards Application and Execution - Support MS's project management throughout the project delivery process from workplace design aspects, to completion, ensuring all new-built or renovation works follow the Firm's approved design standards. - Utilize MS's procurement process on selection of consulting teams and vendors to deliver according to procurement policies. Work with Sourcing to secure framework agreements and maintenance agreements with key suppliers. - Work closely with external design consultants and act as a control point to ensure design standards, branding and environmental principles are adhered to. Manage and apply the design contracts and ensure quality delivery through performance management. - Pre/Post project/occupancy review of designs to ensure application matches intent, and revisit/reconfirm periodically. Support operational protocols and change management framework where required. - Pre-empt any potential risks or issues that may arise due to poor design. Ensure lessons learned/general feed-back is captured to enable continuous improvement.
Skills and Competencies - Requires project management capabilities in a design environment with an understanding of interior design methods, quality control, building operations and maintenance knowledge. Good knowledge of architectural and building services engineering/interior fit-out projects including spatial planning, furnishings and performance specs. Financial services industry experience a bonus. - Experience in review of design proposals via sketches, elevations, sections and perspectives. - Solid understanding of current workplace planning theories. - Proven organizational skills, ability to prioritize in order to meet deadlines and provide high quality service to clients. - A flexible approach with the ability to adapt to changing conditions and priorities and to work in a collaborative team environment. Multi-national experience an advantage. - Awareness of linkage between design, real estate planning & financial results, and with ability to tailor strategic direction to address financial challenges. - Distils complex information to the essential for client decision-making. Capable of participating in discussions with internal clients on design and space use concepts - Good interpersonal skills with the ability to present to and communicate with demanding clients within the Business Units, managing expectations throughout the design and delivery process. - Travel may be required as this is a regional role.
Education and Experience - Bachelor or Master's degree in architecture, interior design / planning or related to workplace strategies. - Membership of a professional interiors or architectural association an advantage. LEED credential a bonus - 8+ years' relevant space planning, design and project management in Corporate fit-out experience, preferably with some exposure to investment banking.
