Global Treasury (GT) and Global Credit Finances (GCF) Business Controls function is to focus on managing the First Line of Defense (FLOD) programs and enhance its business as usual (BAU) state. In order to mitigate risk within the first line of defense, staff will support the various components of the program through risk assessment, control development, monitoring and enhancement, reporting, training, and talent development.
The purpose of the role is to support the GT and GCF Business Controls function:
Support the implementation of the First Line of Defense (FLOD) framework
Primary responsibilities will be to help establish and drive business efforts to meet the established Corporate timelines and implementation plan, through leadership and coordination of first line priorities and activities across GT and GCF
Focus on first line risk management, including but not limited to risk ratings, (where applicable), validating controls with the business, evaluating control design, and issues management
Actively support and update the implementation schedule, oversight, and maintaining the risk management framework as the project moves into BAU state
Take responsibility, and be accountable to management, for appropriately managing risks associated with the FLODs activities
Maintain effective risk and control management programs
Help support and build out BAU processes, self-identify risk and compliance issues, analyze root causes, and implement timely corrective actions
The successful candidate will report to the Assurance work lead under the Global Treasury Business Controls Executive and will liaise on a regular basis with the Finance FLOD team and the Corporate FLOD PMO, Compliance, Enterprise Risk Management, and Audit thereby complementing and building on the control and risk infrastructure already in place.
Under limited supervision, provide direction to the GT and GCF business units on various elements of the FLOD Policy
Independently conduct assigned responsibilities related to the FLOD Policy implementation and execute a range of complex tasks and analyses to support both business unit and department goals.
Support assessment activity and engagement protocol between first and second lines of defense
Enhance current governance structure which provides oversight for GT and GCF risk and to strengthen interactions with second and third lines of defense
Execute assurance reviews through control assessment and testing on behalf of the first line of defense
Execute Risk Tolerance Statement communications plan and incorporate into business decision-making and change management processes
Establish a process to self-identify and address/escalate inconsistencies with the current Compliance Risk Tolerance Statement (CRTS)
Participate in the process to align risk & control methodologies across all three lines of defense and propose specific methodology enhancements where applicable
Re-enforce an inherent culture of accountability and ownership for implementation and execution of controls across all levels and functions within the organization
3+ years of related experience
Understanding of the relationship between risks and related controls, along with appropriate control design within a GT and GCF capacity
Experience in process and controls mapping methodologies
Development and execution of related test approaches
Knowledge of regulatory requirements in GT and GCF
Management and leadership skills
Communication, influencing, and collaboration skills
Strong excel skills
